I see from Digiguide that the Sopranos is on Network 2 at 9.30 on Tues 6th April. It doesn't say which series it is though. Anyone know if this is the new series?

Ah it's soon - I think I'll just wait for the episodes to come naturally then, rather than rush to get them from the U.S. It's nicer on my cap and it's more sociable as I can watch them with my flatmate.

What are the odd's that those retard's in rte will bounce the show all over the place like every other tv show on that poxy channel tho?

    Highly Likely!

hopefully its better than series 4, there were some awful stories in that

ludo, do you pay for digiguide?
after the free trial i've had to switch to online listings, which are much less convenient

Glad they're getting it sooner rather than later!

Hurry up and run Bow Wow into the ground so we can enjoy a DECENT show @ 9.30pm Tuesdays :D

Maybe 'The Sopranos' will be on @ 10.25pm after '24' ? Makes more sense for it to be on later.

    RTE, wake the **** UP.

This is THE BIGGEST series on TV worldwide, and here we are, discussing whether it's on in 11 days time or not.

THIS is the reason why RTE is ****e. It's still so far behind, even when it's ahead.

    in-FURIO-ating!

They'd want to be whipping out the ads fairly quick...

series 5 is the new one
i seriously doubt its on rte
its 24 followed by the news, then other voices and the dead zone
sadly looks like a wait until september

at least champions league is on tv3

A friend of mine (HUGE sopranos fan) actually rang RTE 3 weeks ago to find out when the new series was starting. They said mid-April.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,935 ✭✭✭eyerer

i'll also point out that before previous seasons started rte weren't shy about it, they advertised the start of series 3 for weeks

hmmm..my DigiGuide also says 24 is on now at 9.30 on the 6th..but it says it is on for 2 hours. Looks like digiguide screwed that up a bit. It definately said Sopranos was on last week though.,

I've pulled a complete blank on what happened in the end of the last series.

    Carmella throwing Tony out?
What else happened in the last episode?

Anyone else here of the opinion this show is a tad overrated? I'm not saying it's not good - and it is very well produced - but it's not, to my mind, quite Greatest Thing Ever that it's often made out to be. I've seen the first two episodes of this season and enjoyed them, without being overwhelmed, so I decided to wait for their debut on television here. So am I the only casual fan?

I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago.. midway through season 2 I caught it, and then sat down with the "dvd's" and watched seasons 2 and 3 in a couple of days. then got season 4 on dvd and watched it in one night, then the day afgter that I got season 1 and watched that in one go too.

have a bit of season 5 too, it's looking fantastic :)

and no, i don't think this show is over rated. i think it's possibly the best thing on television atm

last episode (episode 57 irregular around the corners) which was aired on hbo on sunday night was the best so far this season. spoilers ahoy.
chrissy goes out of town for a few days on business and ade and tony s have some awkward moments and a road accident which sets froth some spirals of gossip around that thing of theirs. chris gets back on the booze, hits out against ade and tries to shoot tony s. nearly gets whacked in the process, savedonly by tony's cousin tony b. (BUSCEMI)

    some class quotes this episode:
Everybody knows you been the biggest ****in' cooze hound around the last four or five years. Your mid-life crisis. You'd **** a catcher's mitt."
"What do you got to be stressed about? That bar?

    War, Christopher? The Middle East?

You don't listen to the president? We're gonna mop the floor with the whole ****in' world. The whole world's gonna be under our control. So what are you worked up about? " - Christopher and Adrianna

    hold stop and reveal.

    adnans

Quite enjoyed the first episode of the new season. Had some funny moments, especially with the bickering over the restaurant bill :D

I don't think it's the BEST thing on TV, but definitely worth watching.

    Liked last nights.

Good, not great. It was more a middle of a series episode, than the first of a new.

Liked the ending, but then again the endings are always good.

Pity RTE fcuked up yet again by stretching the widescreen vertically for the first 5 minutes....

I used to think that. I'd watch an odd thirty minutes or an episode here and there and catch the gist of whats happening. But a few months back my friend loaned me season 1 on dvd. I got bored one night and decided I'd put it on. Two weeks later I'd watched every single episode of seasons 1-4, unusual for me as I watch very little tv. Its compulsive viewing, once you pop you can't stop.

    Class. The mans a genius!!

The Episode he directed (the one in the forest with the snow and such) was the best Sopranos episode ever

    great episode tonight

the whole gardeners thing was great
Paulies excuse after the incident - "he jumped out of the tree and came at me with a chainsaw"

    LMAO!
    :D

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 59 ✭✭m0rt

Anyone else notice how Paulie only gave the gardener $500 of the $1000 decided by Tony and pocketed the other $500 for himself? Sneaky f*ck.

    Class episode!

The strength of the characters and their portrayal by the actors is outstanding.

Ah jaysus that was a classic one last night,Ive been watching them since series one and it would rank among my favourites
"He would have never made it as a varsity athlete"Junior
    "AW SON OF A BITCH!!!"Tony

    To your ones boyfriend
"Does she suck cock good? Mind you,you probably taught her how to do it"

And poor likeable Bobby had to find out what Janice is really like

Tony "Free spirit Janice! Rebel without a cause! While I sit here mired in her bull****, trying to be a good son, while you're off dropping acid and blowing roadies!"

    Bobby(alarmed as fcuk)"Roadies!!??!"
Just the way he delivered that single word cracked me up:D

Jesus,Feech has to be one of the most evil characters to ever be seen on that programme. Even Ralphie was nicer than this guy,and he beat his pregnant girlfriend to death and ordered the hit on another girlfriends son:D. Ever since he told of beating the sh1t out of some innocent dude in prison for respect you knew he was one mean prick.

That was just the best. Poor Baccala - Janice (or Parvati, as she asked to be known in Series 1 in her Bhuddist days) is really going to screw him over. Even his kids have realised that she's a cow.
