No Irish Channels Since Registration

    I had Sky Digital installed 3 weeks ago and since the card was registered and they did the 'callback' thing, I haven't been able to receive RTE 1, 2 TV3 or TG4.

    I've phoned Sky over 10 times at this stage and every time I speak to someone (they keep putting me through to 2nd Tier Support) they guarantee me that it will absolutely be sorted in the next (depending on who I get talking to) 48 or 72 hours. They have sent signal after signal after signal down to my card but still nothing. I've been very patient up to now but this morning while on the phone to them AGAIN, I lost my cool. I keep getting promised phone calls to 'update me on the situation' but I'm afraid their promises are very hollow.

    Has anyone else had this hassle and if so can you answer me this 1) How long did it take to get sorted? 2) How did they eventually sort it? and 3) Did they offer any form of compensation by way of a free month or something?

    You have whats called a "confused card"
    Check if you can tune in ITV and ch 4 and five and ITV2 via other channels.
    Freuencies etc on www.lyngsat.com/
    You should be able to do so.
    If they fix it you will lose ITV ch4 and five and ITV2 in favour of the Irish channells.

    So if you can get them via an aerial and dont mind, then I'd advise not rining sky anymore.

    sounds like a confused card, my brother had this problem and eventually sky sent him a new card, and later when he told me me I checked to see if he had ITV and Ch4 and he did even though sky had cancelled the card.

    I had the same problem about a year ago, called sky a few time and they gave me the old 'is should work in 48 hrs' story. They sent out a new card in the end. I however at the time did not know that I could tune ITV etc with the confused card. I can't remember if I had to send it back. Would it still work 12 months on if I tried it ?.
