Looking for a job in Belgium

    Hi folks,

My wife and I have decided to jump ship and move to Belgium.
She's going over on the 29th of March, to look for a job, while I'm gonna keep my job here to cover the expenses.

Me being non-EU national makes things more complicated, I probably stand a better chance of landing a job with good IT skills, but that's the way it goes.

I guess it never hurts to ask, so I will :)
Anyone know of any employers in Belgium that would take an English-speaking person with some French and very basic Dutch? We're not picky, almost anything will do.

My wife has a long term experience in finance and has worked for AIB for the last five years. We're thinking of looking for a job at an Irish pub, it's as good a place to start as any.

If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Netman

I'm looking to move over to Holland and started out not knowing where to start. Have you tried JobServe (www.jobserve.co.uk)? That's where I went & got plenty of responses. Make sure you upload your CV so agencies & companies can browse it. Try www.Monster.be too. I found I got a lot of interest that way. So that's basically what you need to do - advertise!!!

I don't speak any other languages, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. A place as small as Belgium generally has to look outside for skilled workers so language isn't always a problem.

    Good luck,
    K.
