Video card..returning to Peats should I be ok?

Last May (2003) I bought a graphics card from Peats. It was an All In Wonder that I wanted primarily to watch TV on my PC with.

When I installed it the TV worked, but badly, with stations coming in with poor reception etc. I figured it was a weak signal and accepted that the card was not going to be useful for TV but would do fine for games and general use.

Recently I started getting into video editing and DVD creation and by happy conincidence I read that the card I'd bought was perfect for video editing. So I was pleased because I would finally get some extra use out of it (this was about 9 months after the inital purchase).

Since trying to get the video capture facilities of the card to work I've found it to be faulty and it won't capture anything. I've tried various driver updates to no avail, nothing will get the card to work.

I no longer have the receipt but DO have my credit card bill which details the cards purchase date and the fact that I got it from Peats.

I've been holding off on trying to get the card replaced simply cause of the hassle involved (I've no alternative card to use on my system and have no idea how long I'll be without a video card).

    So my questions are these:

    1) Seeing as I have all the original packaging and a CC bill stating I bought it in Peats less than a year ago should I be ok to get it replaced?

    2) Anyone know the turn-around time on getting a video card replaced or are Peats likely to offer me one straight away. It's an old-ish model (7500 VE) so I'd doubt they'd have a replacement in stock.

I've decided to act on this cause it's been annoying me since I realised the card didn't fully work. The fact that it worked enough to let me use my PC (and also not discovering the problem until months after buying it) is what has made me take so long in making this decision.

There's no way i can have a 2 week lack of video card though...so maybe I'm screwed?

as long as you have your credit card bill they will be able to look up your transaction number.
the card would have to be sent for testing and this can take up to one month depending on who the supplier is. i think the redeon card is from an irish supplier so it shouldn't take long.
see conor, liam or barry and they should be able to look after you.
