Convert to MP3

    Hey all, i was thinking of buying an MP3 player

    but i dont think it will work for me, normally i ciopy cds to my pc and listen while working, but can i then transfer these files to the player (one that only plays mp3s)

    If not is there a way to conver the files to mp3?

    can someone help with this!

    What do you currently use to copy your CDs to your PC? If you use someting like windows media player, chance is that they are copied in WMA format. If it's some other ripper program, then the files are probably already in mp3 format. It could also be ogg format ( if you're a linux head ) or wav format ( if you have a terabyte of storage going begging ), but this is unlikely. Have a look at the files in windows explorer.

    If your files are mp3 or wma, most modern players should have codecs to play either format.

    Hi there,

    thanks for the reply, i bought one just now on amazon it plays both wma (or whatever) and mp3
    I use MS player series 9

    hey all,
    i "think" some of the mp3 players that you buy will provide you with a little program that is used to convert the format of the cd to mp3 format.
