maybe its just me, but star wars...number 1?? hardly!
top ten was generally predictable tho, pulp fiction...godfather 1&2 etc. surprised to see some excellent groundbreaking films at pretty high numbers, citizen kane etc. also graham norton is so bloody annoying, but thats a given at this point.

I dont unserstand. You said star wars got no.1 but that shows that Dr.No got no.1
And to my suprise cruel intentions got no.2 (it is a very good movie in my top 10)
Also it is rare and very good for a recent mopvie to get in top 100. I know kill bill will be there in the future

the new special edition DVD of 2001 now has 30 mins of extended silence!

These top 100 or top 10 list thingys are totally irrelevant. Gap filler TV.

dont like any star wars - over rated. i think "feqar and loathing in las vegas" should be in the top 100 its class.

Theres no way Star Wars should have won i mean they were good but they were not what id call the best films ever.

whats really annoying is that they're not arranged in descending order on the page.

List is bullshit tbh, same old choices with a few recent ones thrown in

i thought a lot of the films were well-placed in the list, though the matrix should have been held in higher regard. blade runner was up there which was great... but star wars at #1???

Why are people surprised at "Star Wars" getting its - thoroughly underserved - #1 placing? These polls were conduction online right? A Star Wars fan is far more likely to be online than a, for example, Citizen Kane fan. A Star Wars fan is also going to be far more fanatical about their movie than an Orson Welles fan and far determined to vote for it. So they'll go to the extra effort of voting, perhaps multiple times, and informing their colleagues of the poll to increase the vote. Such polls have absolutely no value because the sample surveyed is non-determined and, as I've pointed out, open to obvious manipulation by a determined group of fan lobbyists. Expect to see the "Lord of the Rings" movies hold sway in a couple of years time.

Remember a while ago, Richard Atenbouragh (spelling?) and Barry Norman held a top one Hundred thingy aswell, voted by phone or writing I think, and "A New hope" got #1.

Totally agree with the whole fanatical thingy, ioxy.
Its as if George Lucass (thats not a typo) has some sort of charisma, or talent.

No, wait thats too over board. I enjoyed all the star wars films, but lay off the special effects man! And get some good actors. (Hayden Christianson. *Shudders*)

there was a distinct lack of war movies........
