TG4 has become unavailable in N.Ireland after being available for a month or so using the add channels. Has anyone got any ideas about what is going on with it?

recent e-mail received from tg4 regarding broadcasting on sky in northern ireland

TG4 is under negotiations with RTE and Sky to broadcast in Northertn Ireland. You are correct the TG4 has been available for a number of weeks but this was in fact an error on the part of a scheduking company. Unfortunately untill negotiations are complete TG4 is no longer available in NI.
We are hopeful that these negotiation wont take too long.
    regards.

The reply Kieran got screams "we're looking for free EPG placement & we'll let Sky set the package we're available on - we're just trying to convince them that people want us"

    I hope I'm wrong.

I recall a couple of years ago when RTE, TV3 & TG4 went live on satelite it was hailed in the local papers and N.Ireland was going to be included for all channels within months or certainly within the year.

It's the usual story - programme rights and a lack of determination unless sky benefits in some way through inclusion in a pay package.
