This PoS was brilliant until about a month ago .. I've had it about a year and a half now, and it's suddenly started treating 9/10 single clicks as a double click!

Anyone have this experience before? Or any suggestions as to what on earth is happening? :)

    Daniel

Maybe have a gander in the mouse settings in Control Panel and increase the time to make 2 single clicks a double click? (Cant remember the name for it, but it should be there!)

yeah I had already thought of that ... thing is that it's now at the very possible minimum setting for double click speed, and STILL a single click will usually open a file/program instead of a double.

It may not sound all that bad, but think about how many times you use a single click and take it for granted?

Say you want to highlight a few files for deletion? Hold CTRL and click once on the files you dont want, you get to the second last one and it thinks you've double clicked so it opens every single highlighted file :)

Same when you're closing a window with the little "X" in the corner, you never know what else will close with it :)

That's a fecker alright, happened me a few times. ClicketyNOOOOOOOOOOO!

Anyway, if you try Control Panel, Folder Options - in the General tab select 'Double click to open an item'

    It is what it's.

Have you actually checked it? I've updated my post with more complete info. Windows has a reputation for changing/having some values changed out of the blue either of its own doing or from the actions of another piece of software.

    It is what it's.
