i was able to setup the lan and both computers have been detected i can transfer files across but the internet will not work on one of the machines.
i have an isdn connection and i set it to sharing but it still wont connect on the other machine ,do i need to have a dns server or something?
the one with the dial up has win 2k and the other win 98,im using a switch to connect them both .what else needs to be done.

Have you assigned an IP address on the client computer (the one without the internet connection)? If so, remove it.

Windows 98 is compatible with 2k, as far as I remember we had a similar setup at an old workplace of mine once upon a time.
