Histogram/Normal distribution in Excel ?

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to create a histogram and/or a normal distribution curve in Excel ?

Is there any way of doing it without having to work through the data analysis manually first and then using that data to draw the chart ? Any way of just pointing excel towards the data and letting it perform the analysis and chart plotting ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Normal curve

IIRC multipling three random numbers (0-1) by each other gives a random distrobution.

so each point is =rnd * rnd * rnd
    do a couple of thousand
    then sort them out

then you need to graph their incidence
probably need to use a bit of VB to sum how many numbers are between 0 and 0.01 , 0.01 and 0.02 etc.,,
though you might get away with subtotals and rounding functions to get the count for each range of numbers

There are addins in Excel - tools / addins
but if you did not do a full install (custom select all) then they may not be available

Thanks Capt, I got the histogram working by going to tools --> add-ins --> Analysis Toolpak. There's a histogram option there in data analysis.

The only way I could get a normal distribution curve was to superimpose a trendline on the histogram. Not great, but it will have to do.:)

    Thanks again.
