This is a poem i wrote two years ago today about someone I cared about deeply.I dont claim to have any talent i just want to get the damned thing away from just me-it holds far too much emotion.Be kind!!!:D

    I walk down.

I walk down feet cold and hurried
I heard it on the radio-God Im worried
near the train station now-you were catching the train
    Is it true?
    I pray not but...but yes
I see the lights now-bouncing back and forth
catching yellow jackets and medicine packets
    Loading up another statistic...you

I walk down feet thud on soft floor
The box is full-complete with open door
There you lie pretty as usual-but pale
Ready to receive the final nail.

I walk down feet crunch on stones-
    on the hallowed ground.
You dont make a sound as I come by
To say hello and of course to cry
    Like before you listen-

    silent.

This is oneof the better poems I've read on this board. It was touching without being self-indulgent like many poems. I liked it, quite modern, which is oddly enough not an area in which many Boards poets seem to tread...

    Well done.

Don't hang around though. Shame to let a talent lie unused. Try another one, and another one. Please.

Very poignant considering events yesterday. I like the transition between verses to different scenes. The "silent" at the end is used to powerful effect by making it stand alone on one line. I can really feel the word reverberate. Well done. Thanks for sharing something that's obviously very personal to you!
