There was an RTE spot warning of the dangers of a car using a railway crossing. It was narrated by a RTE sports commentator. He spoke about trains coming and the car should wait.
It ended with: "...you could be trampled to death."


This is probably from the late 70's and at the latest from 1985.

There was another UK water safety one; it was really long and featured practical advice about how to rescue people from drowning. I remember it had the line "test the depth and wade out to her".

There was the seatbelt ad: "KLUNK-KLIK - BELT UP!"

And another UK one with people walking down the street impersonating cars: never figured out what it was about ... Ah, that's it in the post above!

I also remember a really old ad where a small child is playing in the kitchen. Mother: "Johnny, go outside and play, you're always under my feet!" Johnny runs out, we hear the screech of car brakes, then the voice over: "Better under your feet than ...

And an ad for blood transfusion starring the "other" merseyside band, The Spinners.

Another one coming back to me was an ad warning people to use their seatbelts.It showed an action man type figure being fired through a windscreen with a catapult.Late 70's i think.

Another one that's coming back to me was the one with the young bucko's chasing each other on the bicycles and one of them nearly ends up under the wheel's of a car and gets a stern talking to by the driver."No wonder the driver is annoyed "the voice over would go.Also i think it was on the same ad some lad's waiting for the school bus messing and one of them nearly falls under the wheels of the bus as it pulls in.
