AMD Athlon "Mobile" XP2400-M Thoroughbred 266FSB

Get a 2500+ 333FSB and why go for a mobile one, there better overclockers but those case run very hot anyway, otherwise a good rig.

    Thanks joePC

These mobile chips will do upwards of 2600 mhz and any fsb the rest of the kit will take. They run default at 1.45v nice and cool for a small case

I'm going to setup a media box including a little tivo like box
That remote could be the trick

    Thanks

with regards to any rig it all depends on what you want to do with it. from the looks of things you are going down the multimedia route and not a heavy gamer if that is so then what you should have is fine.

if you want to do some serious gaming i recommend a better graphics card.

with regards to the mobile chips yes a mobile chip would be nice for a shuttle as they do run at 1.45v and you could easily up that to 1.65v as that is what people normally use when they are running shuttles so it should overclock real nice. however i would still look for a mobile 2500+ over the 2400+ as it is a barton core and has twice the l2 cache and should easily overclock over the 3200+ level.

    Get a better graphics card.

At the very least get a 9800 PRO. It's worth the investment.

Dont be fooled into thinkin that they will do 2600mhz with ease, your talkin alot of Vcore and very decent cooling. The mobiles do overclock better than the regular ones (of which overclock is generally 2.3-2.4ghz) but not by a huge ammount.

Having a Vcore of 1.45 is sweet, it means you can cool it with very little noise which might be a factor in your purchase?

Its basicly one of the other, high overclock or nice and cool.......... generally they dont go toghter (unless you have serious cooling :))

The AIW is a good idea as you will be short of space inside the shuttle and you dont want to use your PCI slot. Another option would be a USB one? If your into gaming like the guys said the 9200 is NOT the card to be getting. Go with a minimum of a 9600pro (which has an AIW version) or mabye a 9800se AIW (roughly same performance as the 9600pro but some can softmod to a 9800pro AIW).
