Ok, got a m8 in australia who desprately wants to get his hands on the ireland - england rugby match.

i am currently exploring the idea of sending over the net, assuming i can get an copy of the match in avi or some other digital format. we both have adsl, so i just wondering

    a) any1 got the match on there PC?

    b) what would be the best way to let him dl it? try and use the likes of kazaa? or maybe dc++ or bit torrent? or i was thinking of setting up an ftp server on my pc?

    any suggestions would be greatful

to any mods, if u know anywhere better to put this, feel free to move it, i just have a habit of dumping all my pc/tech probs in here :)

DC++ probably, I use it thru a hub my clan has but you can probably set one up urself, then if the connect goes down you can pick up from where you left off.

OK, i already have dc++, but i what do i need to create my own hub, even just on a temp basis?

That's how I share big files with my m8 overseas. Fasted and safest way to transfer files

I'd second an FTP Server (WarFTPd or a similar server - theres loads of them for windows). FTP is fast and reliable for large file transfers and will allow him to resume if there is a disconnect. If you want proof it's the best way just look at all the major download mirrors - major distribution is still done over FTP.

GuildFTPd is what i use, and its dead simple, and supports resuming etc. Very easy and handy.

    will do!

and if there is more than one, then maybe bit torrent might be the answer! they beauty of it, will be easier to share!
