Targa Visionary AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ for scarcely 1,300, - euro


In place of the Athlon-64-Desktop-Rechners Lidl brings 13 March 2004, a Notebook in some regions starting from Saturday, with play-suited equipment on the market. As processor the currentsaving AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ (2,133 MHz) was selected. In addition comes ATIs DirectX-9-faehiger Notebook Grafikchip Mobility Radeon 9600 with own 64 MByte GDR RAM, whose 3D-Leistung might be sufficient also for somewhat more fastidious plays.

As screen the usual 15-Zoll-Display with XGA dissolution (1,024 x 768) is used. The Notebook is further equipped with the VIA-KT400A-Chipsatz and 512 MByte DDR333-SDRAM. The main memory can be extended on up to 2 GByte, for which altogether two DIMM card locations are present.

The 2,5-Zoll-Festplatte von Toshiba seizes 60 GByte data and turns with 4.200 revolutions per minute. A DVD Multinorm and a CD burner of LG Electronics are likewise inserted. It burns DVD+R media with 4facher as well as DVD r media with 2facher speed. DVD+RWs are described with 2,4facher and DVD RWs with 2facher speed. As CD burner the equipment with 16facher (CD-R) and/or 10facher (CD-RW) works speed. CD Rome are read with up to 24facher and DVD Rome with maximally 8facher speed.

A memory card reader for Smart Media Card, SD/MMC and the classical MEMORY stick is likewise inserted. The Notebook besides with a Wireless LAN PC Card is delivered, which can communicate wirelessly with gross 11 MBit/s (IEEE 802.11b). Thus unfortunately also the only PC Card Slot of the equipment is occupied. Here an internal mini PCI solution would have been probably more meaningful.

In addition an integrated 56K-V.90-Modem and an integrated 10/100-MBit-Netzwerkanschluss come with the communication interfaces. The other interfaces cover a VGA- and a television exit, once FireWire400, three times USB 2,0, a parallel and a serial (PS/2) connection.

With the sound Targas Visionary AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ apart from Stereo loudspeakers and similar stereophonic sound offers also Dolby-Digital-5.1-Sound over an optical exit (SPDIF Out). A microphone and a microphone connection are to be found also at the equipment. The Notebook offers control elements of a CD player at the edge of housing for playing audio and MP3-CDs. The function can be used without boats of the operating system.

How long the left-ion-Akku holds out, Lidl did not indicate unfortunately. The equipment measures 345 x 48 x 285 mm and weighs proud 3.5 kilograms. This weight reaches also the likewise again announced, but less stretching people Notebook of Bild.T Online.de, Media market and Toshiba.

Cool.

I picked up one of these back in October. Overall there's not much difference. Faster CPU from 2500+xp to the 2800+XP and it now has a mutli format DVD writer instead of the DVD+R/RW in the October model. So I don't feel too bad now that the rest it almost the same I think.
It's a great machine though, Never had trouble with it. Nice black/silver look also.

That lidl bargain strangely looks like a Gericom - the laptops recently sold in Aldi. Not the same model but one of their other bargains?

And if you are looking to get one you had better get there early. They sell out very quickly.
