    I like (D)

    (A) and (B) seem too squarish and I prefer white, but thats just me.

Surely you have your own opinion or are you just some marketing whore?

Grow a back-bone man, pick your own damn watch.

    Boards shouldnt rule your life*

Are they all ladies watches? ;)

If you want a good watch, buy a SEIKO kinetic watch.. i have one for a few years now (got one when they first came out).. Never needs a battery, totally environmentally friendly.. someday everything will be like that!

    They look classy too.

    theyre all ugly and rectangular

just staple a clock to your wrist mister-fancy-pants

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,190 ✭✭✭UnrealQueen

The first one is classy, the second i really like tho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

    They are all pretty bad.

Why do you want to buy a watch? If it is to keep the time cant you just use your fone and save money?
Watches are old and boring we dont have any real need for them any more.

If you're going to get a watch, why not buy a nice one FFS. The Raymond Weil and the Breitlings are worthy of consideration. One or two of the Tissots are worth looking at as well.

They sure are 4 ugly watches. Why not go for a Nautica dive watch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,070 ✭✭✭Placebo

i voted for D, although they are quite square, dont think theyd suit me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,126 ✭✭✭][cEMAN**

They're all dress watches. Depends what styles/colours of suits you normally wear (if any). I prefer C which imo goes with pretty much any style of formal wear which is dark coloured. D would be more for formal wear in the lighter colours.

davey devil: you are a fag.

the pursuit of material gain is an empty one.

also, they're all unbelievably pretentious and disgusting.

the only way to have a watch like that is as a present.

bonus if it was kept up the ass of a war veteran.

honestly, the idea that you would buy yourself a watch like that. come on.

Thanks Danger, it is a present for my 21st, think I'd spend a lotta money on a watch? - don't think so.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,169 ✭✭✭dangerman

ok, thats acceptible. it seemed from ur first post u were off to buy urself a watch. which upset me no end.

since its for ur bday, thats grand, but i'd go for a rounder option.

    i don't vote.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,276 ✭✭✭damnyanks

I personaly dont like any of them. But I dont see why people are getting bitchy about it. Its not your money its his. If he wants to buy a watch fine, his money.

man, they're some horrible looking watches:eek:

all a matter of opinion i guess (i'd go for one of these)

yeah dangerman, stop being a bitch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,126 ✭✭✭][cEMAN**

I don't know what the problem is here. When I first got a job I had never had a decent watch, and with my first wage packet I went out and bought a good expensive watch. I've had it now a few years and it's still serving me well. Most others had failed after about a year - so if this ever packs in i'm not going for a cheap model again.

i stop being a bitch once u stop being a little girl.

Your parents are obviously prepared to spend a lot of money on this present so give it some careful consideration. I would advise against buying a watch with a fashion brand on the front of it. Ask for something classic made by a respected watch maker. A watch is a tool, the more precise the tool, the more expensive it is. How much a man invests in his watch is the measure of his commitment to punctuality and to keeping his word.:D

I think b is the nicest one there, cos the light face looks better than the dark face. Second choice would be a though - the roman numerals are to big to look nice/classy

I always end up smashing my watches so I decided that I'd buy a g-shock. All was going well until the bastard strap broke.

Interesting choices (well, the Breitling anyway!). Here's what I wear on my wrist most days - not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it.

If you want a fancy watch (for a bloke) it can only be an Omega, or a Tag.

I was lookin for a kinetic watch for myself a few years back and came across oakley's range of watches.
    two words
    *bling* *bling*
    $1500

there was another one that was made from gold, studded with diamonds and had platinum and diamond innards(i think).
came to a cool $10,000 if not more. cant find a pic of it now tho, musnt of sold too well.

ended up getting a Pulsar kinetic watch, still going strong after 3 1/2 years. no maintenance, no batt change.

    Breitling's are brash, overdone obscenities.

I love my Sinn EZM-1. link

Marathon's and Stocker & Yales's are pretty good too.

yes. that's the only nice watch i've seen on this thread so far. Oakley have a very nice range and some are even affordable.
