PSU Fan sounding dodgy

I'm 99% certain this is a PSU fan problem...

In the last couple of days I've noticed the PSU fan in my desktop has been sounding strange. Usually happens on startup, and to be honest I can't really describe what its like, but I'll try...

For a start, when it happens the fan is much noisier than it used to be. It seems to have an irregular RPM. Usually shortly after start-up it settles down to a normal pattern, but after a while (maybe 10 minutes or so) it starts again. Then it stays like that.

The PSU is a few years old, its in a Packard Bell ixtreme 9200i. The PSU manufacturer is FSP Group, and the model number is FSP235-60PNF(PF). It has a 235W output.

Any ideas? And sorry this is as vague as it is...:(

p.s. while I'm on the topic, I'm reading in quite a few places that 235W is feck all, and that I should upgrade the PSU anyway. Is this a good time to do it?
