DVD authoring software recommendations

    Hi,

I'm looking for some decent DVD authoring software which will allow me to create custom menus fior my video projects.

I want to use a mixture of video clips and stills / interactive buttons created in Photoshop.

I tried the version of DVDit! which came free with Premiere 6.5 and didn't like it at all.

Would something like Adobe Encore DVD be more user friendly for someone used to Photoshop/Premiere? It seems a tad pricey though for what it does.

I'd appreciate your opinions and recommendations.

Ulead DVD Workshop 2 is very good... among other thing you can import layered button from Photoshop, add subtitles, multi sound track (to do your director commentary!!). Very easy to use...

And it is a little bit cheaper than Adobe Encore DVD...

30 days trial version is available.

Actually I use the Auth software that comes with Pro Edition 5, now that I've learned how to use it.

    Adobe Encore DVD.

Steer clear of ALL Ulead sftware - it's complete muck.

I Know there is a list already of loads, and you probably have found one, but if not check out www.mydvd.com its the website of Sonic MYDVD. It allows menu creation, it converts different formats for you, has templates and is very quick and easy to use. I use it all the time and have never had any problems!

Finally got a copy of Premiere Pro on Friday and it came with a demo of Encore DVD which seems really good.

Yeah I tried Ulead's awful editor a few years ago when I first tried my hand at video editing. Needless to say it ended up in the bin.

MyDVD looks good and price seems very reasonable.

Thanks to everyone for your help :)

I use Nero Express 2 (Part of Nero 6 Ultra Edition) whgich is about €50 from www.ahead.de

Excellent application, and it also has the world famous Nero Bruning Rom - the new industry standard CD/DVD burning app.

Highly recommended, and they actively support it as well.
