Overclocking a 1800+

I have an Athlon XP 1800+ (palomino) and i'm getting some 400mhz DDR Ram either today or tomorrow (its being delivered as we speak). I know that the 1800+ is multiplier locked, and i don't really want to go fiddling around with pencils and conductive fluid to unlock it, so how high can i go FSB wise.

Also, with this motherboard (Epox 8k9Ai) if i increase the FSB to 200, will it hugely overclock all the PCI slots aswell, or are they locked?

    Thanks in advance

I have mine running at fsb of 143 with cheap-ass cooling, and no voltage mods.
It depends a lot on your mobo and how it seperates the PCI/AGP bus from the fsb, as you pump up the fsb you are also pumping up the mhz on these other buses too, and this can annoy some cards on these buses.
What I did was: pumped the fsb to 140 booted, increased by 1 booted etc... at around 145 it wouldn't boot so i stepped it back 2 mhz and cushty, i could prolly get it to boot past this by raising voltages etc... but I couldn't be bothered.

ok, i just bumped the FSB straight up to 148, how do i test if it's stable? It booted no problem, so i presume its at least semi-stable.

Run 3dmark, memtest and prime95. 3dmark 2001 is quite good, if it's stable with that for a few runs I'd say you're good to go.

Prime95 is the main stability test for most o/c'ers. You can get it here:
    http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm

You can leave it running for hours while you surf and do other stuff. Some people say 24 hours is necessary to guarantee full stability but it's up to you what you regard as stable. I had an o/c'd Athlon that failed prime95 after 1 minute but it played most games fine.
