I have a 02 Clio, considering trading in for older car thats worth less. Do most garages take this and give you the difference in value in cash?

You're probably better off selling it privately. You could get a better price this way. If the car is particularily saleable a garage would be more inclined to take it and hope for a resale with a tidy profit.

Most garages would give you the cash diference and with your car being a sought after item you should have no probs

The above post is bad advice, don't listen to it.

A garage will shaft you royally on a down-trade as it's known in the business. Even more so than a regular trade-in. Best off selling privately and walking into a garage with cash.

I never said they would'ent shaft you but a 02 clio would be easy enough to sell

Go to the garage with your car keys in one hand, and a tube of KY jelly in the other!!

Sell it private on Carzone.ie, Autotrader.ie CBG.ie or on buyandsell.ie

Its no use unless you are trading up, someone trading down is a garage salesmans dream.
