Me and a friend from New York are having a chat about it on msn, he reckons The Takeover, for listenability and Hit 'em up for burn factor...

Ether without a doubt , murdered Jay-Z single handedly with that track.

Hit Em Up was vicious but not exactly the most original diss , the Takeover was hot but was left in the Shade by Ether .

Does anybody know the name of the Nelly diss by KRS-One?
Apparently he just killed Nelly (as expected), I'd like to hear it though. Anyone heard it? Any good?

I have one at least..I think there may be a couple. It's called "You don't really want it". Quite vicious too as you'd imagine...insulting Nelly over everything from his acne to his NSync flirtations.

It was a bit of a bizarre mismatch...as KRS said.."I'm a flamethrower, you a bic lighter".

As legendary as KRS is , that diss to Nelly stunk of publicity . Nelly's song had nothing at all to do with KRS , just found a way to get some publicity. Im a huge KRS fan but that wasnt one of his high points.

Exactly, KRS butchered him with his rap, and to me at least their was never any doubt that he wasn't going to butcher Nelly.
He could do it live, or he could do it on a track. Nelly's just not on the same level as KRS.

I cant believe you're comparing nelly to KRS-1 , bugler makes a beter point than I can atm, as I'm in shock at the audacity of that statement.

Commercial success as an indicator of talent? It just shows how low the genre has fallen of late if a hip-hop fan uses that as an argument.

Definetly, the whole song disses Snoop and Dre. He chews up Dre Day and spits it out. "Dre Day only meant Eazy pay day" Some of it is genius! That whole album is brilliant.:)
