Alcohol a cure for Acne! (well for me anyway)

Every morning I wake up after drinking the night before my face is always a lot smoother and never a bit greasy. Yesterday was probably the smoothest my face has been since I was about 14 because I went out Friday to Sunday. It is obvioulsy because the drink dehidrates the body but I have tried so many creams and it never helped. There are so many cures for acne but does anyone know of a cure that would work in the same way that alcohol does (ie. dehitrate the skin)?

    Ta.

That's weird, seems to make my skin worse.

Could also be that your acne was caused by constant stress which alcohol relieved for a few days.
Interesting theory though, I'll have to get completely plastered for a few days solid... for scientific purposes of course ;)

    Two words...Silica Gel.
Very easily got (most chemists or health food shops SHOULD have it).
Basically, just put it on your acne at night.
It works over a few months, so dont give up on it!
The results are grest though...its the best thing iv tried so far, and iv tried EVERYTHING.
Let me know how you got on!

The pink annoys me too. Why not just settle for black/white?
Then people might actually take what you say seriously.

Then again, with a name like "Barbie_666" I guess don't expect people to listen to you.

Could be due to dehydration from the alcohol.

Jeez I know for sure that I don't check if my face is smooth when I wake up, I make sure I still have all my teeth, that I have no stabwounds no bruises, AIDs herpes etc

Well in fairness, judging purely from your comments, you probably don't have acne.
I know from friends with acne that it can be quite a preoccupation. And it would be one of the first things they'd check in the morning, as the state of their acne in the morning would affect their mood for the day. So if someone with acne wakes up with their skin feeling smoother, they're going to notice and they're more than likely going to wonder what made it smoother.

    Back to the topic though.
How much alcohol are you talking about?
Are you talking about a night on the beer's worth?

Don't they all have terrible side-effects though?
Where as huge amounts of alcohol... oh right, never mind.

As with all medication there are side effects. I was on treatment for my skin from about age 15 and tried probably most of the stuff. You should go to your GP and see what they say or if it is really severe go to a Dermatologist. There are all different treatments ranging from topical which you just place directly onto your skin to tablets. Certain antibiotics help clear it up from under your skin. You can get creams that peel the top layer of your skin off as well, but it leaves your face quite red until you finish using it. I suggest getting an expert opinion. I went to a dermatologist and had to try a couple of things before it went but now my skin is perfect. Tea tree oil face washes are great for your skin as well, for clear skin as well as acne.

Irish Life - Try drinking water for the same period in the same quantities as you did the beer.

I find it has the same effect. I don't think alcohol dries the skin like it does the cranium.

I'm telling ya....Clearasil and all their products are a waste of time! They never work for anyone.

Drink lots and lots of water...'til it starts coming out of your ears!

If it's really bad then go to the doctor I agree.
