    Howdy !

Have a network at home with 3 -4 systems network printer usual stuff.
Would like to hook up DSL line with a firewall sitting in front of the network.

Am thinking of using netsource as the DSL provider.

What version is the best to use i was thinking freebsd as its rock solid when its setup...

Also what do i need to configure on the system IPTables the DSL modem - thingy, NAT and is there anything else.

Any links to faqs on how to go about all the above would be greatly appreciated...

Or indeed what version u use and how its getting on... etc etc..

There is already a Linux stand alone firewall product. All you need is an old PC with 64 or so megs of RAM (the more the better), and IpCop .

It is an all singing, all dancing Firewall, that will look after Routing, Access Control, Proxy caching, DHCP, DMZ setup, and a whole load more. Current version is 1.3.0, patch level 8.

Takes half an hour to setup, 10 minutes to patch, and allows secure remote administration via a webbrowser, both from LAN, and remotely, if desired.

Give it a try, if you run into any problems, post back here, or IM me.
