    Push on for cheap diesel
    From:The Irish Independent
    Friday, 27th February, 2004

ROAD hauliers have begun a drive for cheaper fuel charges across Europe, proposing a single central tax rate on diesel.

An international road transport conference in Dublin today will seek "professional diesel" for heavy goods vehicles at a common Euro tax rate. Hauliers' spokesman Jimmy Quinn said there was a wide variation in price across Europe.

These jokers have some cheek, we are already subsidising them heavily on the road tax side and now they want cheap fuel so they can pollute freely without any penalty.

there was an article in the indo there friday i think about this enviromentally friendly fuel that they are pushing for in Ireland. Its grown through sugar beet and you can put up to 20% of it mixed in with your petrol without any need for conversion. There is a significant cost saving and your saving the enviroment;)
