Ok, i bought a phone worth 250 euros from ebay, arrange payment with the guy. I lodged the money to his account on friday, the bank said it would take 2-3 days to go through. He says he checked his account just now and its not there.
I hope to fúck he's not a gangster, and i havent been screwed over. Anyone know if it usually takes this long to transfer money?

Is he in Ireland? If not, it can take up to 28 WORKING DAYS (!!) to transfer funds...

I'm sure everything is hunky dorey so far.

Heheh, no i just get all panicky when it comes to dealing with strangers, especially ones with a lot of my money! I have his name alright, he has a good ebay rating, so maybe im being a bit harsh on him. Its an english bank. I lodged money before to an english bank and it only took 2 days thats why i was asking...Thanks!

lots of phone scams on ebay... Lots and lots and lots. One simple rule I stick to is not to use western union/bank transfers or any other kind of "take my money first, I trust you" kind of setup where you have no comeback if you dont get the goods promised.

If I was you, I'd remain horribly paranoid and prepare for a violent frenzy of mutilation until the phone arrives at your doorstep. But that's just me...

I couldnt agree with rymus more. remain horribly horribly paranoid at all times stay in the attic if possible in a rocking chair wraped in a blanket clutching betsy (your trusty double barrell shotgun) until the goods arrive.

I just spend 120 yoyo's on stuff on ebay from the US so i know how you feel. violent frenzy of mutilation here i come.......

Can I ask you this guys name? You should never transfer the money straight to their account, I did that last year and got screwed out of €400. PM me and let me know if its the same guy and you will be able to get the bank to transfer the money back before its too late!!!!

I didn't know that was possible, surely once the money has been sent, it's gone and you can't get it back?

If the money has not been received into the other account it can be cancelled and reversed. If it has been received then yeah, it is too late. I was on to my own bank about this the time I got screwed.

Even after the money was received they still requested a reversal of funds, but obviously the person on the other end has to agree to it! And surprise, they didnt! But the bank asked me send them a letter confirming that the transaction was fraud and they took it to the Gardai for me (and got the english police involved on the other side). Waiting to hear back from them! Probably wont at this stage, but was worth the shot!
