... rte show their back archive of programming from the 70's-80's-90's instead of showing aertel all night? could be funny seing all those programs from years back.

    yes, i agree.

what is the benefit of showing the front page all night. even if they did a run through the headlines or something like they used to do years ago

    Ah god, Benji! :)

I'd tape Halls Pictorial Weekly for a blast of nostagia - Richie Ruin, Mothers of Seven, Cha and Myre. That tractor which always featured in the opening "look, bog-sh1tes on tv!" sequence.

    Mike.

Yeah, I agree. It couldn't cost much to have somebody changing a tape every halfhour! :D

    Wanderly Wagon, Bracken, Landmark........

It is a great idea. I've always thought there was tremendous potential for an Irish classics channel if RTE ever get their digital act together, which will probably not be until 2020. Otherwise, repeating them at night would be great.

    Or Mart and Market.

They taped over all of Tolka Row and a lot of Wanderly Wagon.

Yes ace idea, why not show some of the shows showed at primetime as repeats even for those of us who missed them and work funny hours. Or show old films at least. Not everyone goes to bed at one in the morning.

I enjoy sky one, living tv etc as they show old shows all day, like buffy, angel, alias, er and charmed and at ight as well, why do RTE do this, they have the rights an all!

    why indeed

i have a look at RTÉ the odd time in the small hours and see repeats like Winning Streak, some nature show hosted by Derek Mooney. then they show Euronews on their 2 channels (at the same time as TG4) and of course Aertel with 2FM in the background. they do sometimes have good stuff on too but not as often as they should

    sort it out RTÉ!!!!!!!!
