I am just about to make a purchase off Play.com and it says the DVD is only for region 2 and all region DVD's , Just wondering how do I find out what my playstation 2 is ?? And i've also got a seperate DVD player and wondered how i might find out what Region that is ?? Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong forum

Hey, it's more suited to Sci/Tech -> Electronics -> Home Entertainment. Anyway, chances are if you got the PS2 here, it's Region 2. Same with any dvd player purchased in Europe.

ixoy is spot on. European DVD players are gonna be Region 2 unless the region has been unlocked. USA is region 1 for example.

Check www.dvdrhelp.com for you dvd player as it's possible there might be a way to unlock it.....usually through a number sequence on your remote

If you bought your PS2 anywhere on this continent its a pretty safe bet that its a region 2.
