    From Oasis
    With effect from 1st March, 2004, the cost of an Irish passport will increase as follows;

    * standard 10 year, 32-page passport: 75 euro (currently €57)
    * standard 10 year, 32-page passport (for people aged 65+):25 euro
    * large 48-page passport: 100 euro (currently €69)
    * 3-year passport (children aged 3-17 years and people aged 65+): 25 euro
    * 3-year passport (available to children under 3): 15 euro (currently €12)

    From 1st March, 2004, fees for Passport Express services increase to 6.50 euro. From 1st March, 2004 Passport Express service through UK Post Office branches in Northern Ireland and the UK will cost £5.50.

    You should be able to. Just say you are planning on being away for more than a year on a round-the-world trip and don't want to be refused admission to somewhere for not having enough time left on your passport. They take your current one and should be able to sort it in a few days.

    Ahh ****, forgot about them taking your current one and cutting the cornors off it and stamping the canceled on it, a lot of places these days don't seem to accept the passports with the cur edges and canceled stamp on it,
    think i might just report it stolen so I can keep the one I have now and get the new one

    Why do you want to keep the one you have now? Don't say it's stolen, you do know that you can get arrested for that. And if you actually lose your passport it's likely you won't get a new one.

    It's to cover the cost of the retinal scan/ finger prints that are going to be on new Irish passports soon.
