On May 21, 2000, Dudley Hiibel was arrested after refusing eleven requests to show his ID to a Nevada police officer. Later this month, the Supreme Court will decide whether being an obstinate libertarian is a crime

Imho opinion Mr. Hiibel was confrontational but I dont see any reason for his arrest or for the treatment of his 17 year old daughter.....

watch the video and make up your own minds

now i have been stopped plenty of times on the "suspision of carrying ilegal substances"

okay given my feaky hair and some of the friends I know i can understand it but I'm not going to be this confrontational to any Garda, even if it nearly does come to a full cavity search sometimes

well i think it is clear there is absolutly no grounds for the arrest. Mr Hiibel only got cross when the officer continued to ask for papers, and didn't tell him why he had been approached by the police. And to arrest the girl as well, the one the police where supposed to be "protecting" from Hiibel because she tried to run to the police car to see her father is shocking.

The cop told him he was investigating reports of a fight a few times.
But the thing with his kid thats a differnt matter.
Even if the dauther was doin the wild thing she wasn't atackin anyone.
That cop lashing the dauther to the ground like that, was pure assault.
