Try to find a clip on the net before you start payin money.
It was not as good as you remember it.

I remember one episode where he's winning loads by backing horses. His system was - Back the horses that have never won a race coz they are bound to win.

    I believed that for years:D

I used to LOVE ALF when I was a kid, I even got a video of a few of the episodes one Christmas, I watched it over and over...

    The episodes in question were:
For Your Eyes Only - where, after listening to a lonely blind woman's story of loneliness, ALF sympathises as she feels pretty much the same way as he does about how they feel all alone etc etc. and meets up with her for dinner at her house.

    and...

Looking For Lucky - where ALF runs away after being wrongly being accused of eating the Tanners' cat - Lucky (cats were a delicacy on his home plant of Melmac) He goes out trying to find the Lucky and ends up taking a random cat from an animal shelter thinking it was Lucky to prove his innocence.

    *sigh* the memories

Used to love that show, and watched it the whole time. Used to devastate me when I'd have to go to me grandmothers on christmas day, cause it meant missing the christmas special on sky one :(

Have the first few episodes meself as well, watch them every now and again. Still find them fairly funny, maybe its just nostalgia thats making me find them funny though. The humour is fairly dated though so kids these days wouldn't find them funny most likely.

Anyone else remember the cartoon that takes place on Melmac before it exploded that used be on as well?

Well you'll remember the series ended with A.L.F. being captured finally - that was mean! So in 1996, you had Project A.L.F. where ALF is readjusting to life with the Alien Task Force. Never saw it but it's the final piece of ALF lore currently.

There was talk of bringing him back to host his own chat show, but I think nothing transpired of it...

Project ALF - avoid - unfunny and no Tanners.

Ah - the one where he rigged the ratings for the Polka show.

    and the toenail clipping ...

Ah I vaguely remember it. It was great at the time. Dunno if I'd watch it now if it was on TV,

Don't think I'd watch it if it was on TV now either, if I wanted to reminisce it's just as easy to put the video in the VCR and press play really. I don't think it would have the same appeal at ALL these days

When I was in America Paramount had a sort of retro weekend showing old sitcoms. They showed an hour of Alf every night and surprisingly I did find it as amusing and funny over 10 years since I first watched it !

You forget how small and weird looking he is though :ninja:

And how hot the sister in the family was :D

Still love watching the first episode when he follows the father of the family into the bathroom and starts messing about with razors, freaking out the neighbours and stuff. Hilarious stuff to this day.

Was it just me or did Alf sound like a mel brooks on 40 a day?

The project Alf movie wasn't great but Alf himself was funny! It's worth a look just to take a trip down memory lane, it's usually on Sky movies a couple of times a week.

I saw Alf on tv in the States in the last year - he is doing commercials for a
long-distance phone company. He is kinda their spokesman.

    Still as cool as ever!
