if it was sent via ups then it must be insured, he should have a tracking number or at least a reference number

whether it is you or him who takes this up with ups i do not know but it should be them that incurs the cost

if he has no reference/tracking number then it is him that incurs the cost, this should not be put on you

Did you pay by credit card? If so, report the company to your CC bank as acting fraudulently.
Your beef is with the company you gave money to for a product.
Whatever way he ships it is not your problem, it's his.

In contrast, I ordered a DVD from cd-wow that seems to have gone astray in the post, they sent it again, and it still didn't arrive. After the second attempt, they refunded my credit card, no quibbles. They're a great crowd to deal with.

Amazon are the same as cd-wow - I've had a few orders look like they had gone astray and there was no problem getting them sent again (as it happens they all turned up within a day or two after sending the "where's my stuff" mail so I could cancel the resend - post can just be slow at times). I got one order refunded - cd writer never turned up. No hassle at all. Keeps me as a customer, keeps me raving about their dedication to CS, they gain in the long run.

joc_06, get on to your CC company as soon as you can and get them to refund you. Some of them have time limits.
