not sure if this is the right forum, mods you can move it if its in the wrong one

what age do you have to be to go to college as a mature student?

i was thinking of doing architecture technician but the points for it are way out of my reach (drawing skills are good but it doesn't go by that) for me

i'm going on 21 now, is that old enough

yes you have to be 23 on or before the 1st of jan ... so in effect you have to be 24 in the year you start.

the other thing is you have to get all your stuff in before the end of january... but its best to get it in at about the 15th of december.

also . although you dont need the points, you might still need to meet grade requirements. so if your course needs say a C in Hight maths, but you dont have that, you should try and pick it up ... you might be better off repeating the whole LC and trying for the points ... rather than just repeating one subject so that in 3/4 years time you can apply for mature student status.
if you do wait you should do part time courses in the things related to what you would like to do.
not only will this look good on your application but it will let you know if you are really interested in it.
ring people in the places you thinking of going ...
ring them early in november, really do. get the forms and fill them in.
you'll have to apply to the CAO too...

In Ireland, as a mature, independant student, you should have no problems qualifying for the grant, as long as your income is below a certain level. Ask your local City/County council for more details.
