Had a very vivid dream last night. In the dream world of my head....

...It was the day before I was supposed to start a 20-24year sentence for murder!
It never became clear in the dream that I had killed anybody (but I guess I was found guilty ;) ). It was made clear that the judge had made an example of me/showed no quarter. I was being sent to a terrible prison. (Anytime someone in the dream heard they would become very quite and shocked). It was clear that I would be abused in the prison, and that it would be necessary for me to kill an inmate (in order to gain respect and survive the sentence).

I was at home surrounded by friends and family in my home the whole time, but was leaving shortly for the prison. I was very upset.
There was no taught of escape, or not going.
The dream ended with me in tears, going to the car with my family to be dropped at the prison!

    (Perhaps too much cheese!)

Today I have a job interview, which I've been a bit stressed about. Significant? Or just a silly dream?
    Over to you....

I think you've been watching too much oz. I think everyone's had some ****ed up dreams, I'd doubt it's anything to worry about......but I'm no expert on the matter.

i have some really weird dreams. here's one...

I was on some sort of reality game show, on an island, and there was an emergency. everyone(there was 6 of us) had to evacuate to the emergency island, which was a couple of miles away. i was the one who had to fly the helicopter off the island, but it wasn't a helicopter, it was a fishbowl with roters. . anyway, we took off and i decided not to go to the emergency island, but to land of the coast of newbridge. just so you know the coast of newbridge is behind woody's DIY and tesco. the six of us decided to go to sleep and when we woke up, 2 of the group were missing. so the rest of us split up into two teams of two, and searched. Myself and the girl i was with couldn't remember the names of the people we were looking for, so we made up a song about them and there name's was in the song. i checked there name's in the phonebook and rang them and then woke up.

    insane...

hey zulu. I think the dream is your subconscience letting you know that your feeling traped by a problem and that you feel there's no way out of it so your just accepting it- my 2c

Fair point (pretty much what I got from a quick Google, and pretty much what I feel myself).
I guess, so, should I be accepting it - or tackling it?
(I guess I can only answer that myself):(

Probably that you associate old age with death more than you should. That or you are uncomfortable around old people. Maybe you think they smell, and you relate smell to decay, and decay to zombies.

That or you could just have been playing a video game after watching a kung fu film, or mixture of video games. Who knows.

I once had a dream I played basketball against michael jordan, but he was a zombie. Yet for a dead guy he was pretty sound and didn't mind losing :P

In reality dreams are just in most cases metaphores. Some think it's a metaphor for the future, some think for current circumstances in your life. The reality is that you have on average maybe 8-10 REM dreams through the night, but you only remember bits from them and generally you make all of these up into what you think was 1 crazy dream.

I'll say one thing though - to some extent my dreams are prophetic. I once dreamt that I would ride my bike from my front door, get as far as the bottom of the street and the guy living there would be standing outside with his daughter, and that he would ask me to get off and give her a ride (on the bike!!! pervs...). The very next morning that happened down to the last detail of where she was standing, how she was standing, and what she was wearing. Even what he said was exactly the same. It was the only time he had ever asked me to give her a ride on my bike ever.....coincidence? I think not!

Also weird things like being able to sit and watch TV programs being shown for the first time and knowing exactly what's coming next and what's about to be said. Not guessing, but actually knowing i've seen it before. Great the way dreams let me see TV programs before they're broadcast :D

I had this mad dream once about a girl I used to be friends with boyfriend, which I didn't know at the time (seen him once) and he told me they had broken up and I was all happy saying she was a cow and he totally agreed with me.

Soon after at my Nephews christening I started talking to some of my brothers mates that I didn't know and it turned out the girls bf was one of them and he told me he'd broken up with her and we started talkin the way we did in the dream. We were only half way thru d conversation when I rememebered my dream- I thought it was a bit strange

Recently I have begun to take an interest in dreams and dream interpretation. I do believe that they do mean things and can, not so much predict the future but show you things that have been happening. As such its your subconcious showing you things you have overlooked.
After reading up on the subject it does actually make a lot of sence, you can actually see where things that happened in real life were "fore told" as such in a dream due to the fact that your subconcious spotted it and related it to you in a dream. Also for some reason when translated dreams can actually relate to something that is happening to you in real life.

However this may just be coincidental, but I am sure its the subconcious pointing things out to us in its own little way.

everyone has ****ed up dreams.. usually when they cant sleep right or are excited... like if you are off on a trip of the lifetime next day.. no chance you will sleep very well, you will dream but be concious all night.. at least i would. There are different types of dreams.. the ones you usually remember are where you are concious and so can control them (if you realise that) or at least remember them. REM sleep where you are not concious, you usually cant remember anything but the fact you had a dream and maybe even not that.

In other words dream interpretation should be next to impossible since the only dreams you can usually remember are the ones you made up yourself while conciously trying to sleep.

I had a dream quite like that when I was a seven year old - except instead of going to a prision, I was going to see a wizard that was going to kill me! I can still remember the dream vividly, cos it's the only nightmare I've ever had. What hapenned was, my big brother, my little sister and myself were in some sort of a security complex that looked like a shopping centre, but an outside one. It was surrounded by high stone walls, and the front gate was open, but was guarded by these two girls who in real life live next door to my aunt.(the girls were about 20 at that time). Anyway, the three of us knew we had to escape somehow, and before I knew it my brother had climbed over the walls and escaped, and my little sister had escaped out the front gate (she was so small they never saw her!). I decided to try to go out the front gate too, but the girls caught me and bought me to their leader. He decided that the wizard would have to kill me. I remember saying "please don't kill me, I'm only seven", but it didn't do any good. He told me to go away, and report to the wizard at seven sharp to be killed (It was half six at that time). I spent the next twenty minutes wondering around, looking at the clock to make sure I wouldn't be late for the wizard. Then I suddenly saw my parents car driving past me, with my mum, dad, brother and sister in it. I jumped in and said "mum they want to kill me, can we go now?" And mum said "I want to go to the shop first to get some food". Then we drove around the enclosure untill we got to a little newsagent, and they all got out and went into the shop. I was too scared to leave the car though, so I just stayed in the back seat, ducked down so no one could see me. Then I woke up!

Thing is Zulu, I know how you felt when you said
There was no taught of escape, or not going.

cos thats exactly how I felt. There was no hope of me not going to the wizard - I just had to go, even though I knew he was going to kill me. I even remember looking at a clock on the wall to make sure I wasn't late! The only thing that made me stop thinking I had to go, was when I saw my parents - cos you know at that age your parents take care of you and can do anything:D

Nearly 14 years later, I can still visualise all of that dream. It really made an impact on me! And it's still the only nightmare I've ever had:ninja:

Yea, well at least I think they do. My mother has a friend who used to analyse them. She got a lot of meaning out of them. And I mean she spotted things that meant something to me when she said them.

Interesting! Did you ever relate it to anything? - I understand you were a bit young...

Had some mad dreams last night!! I was out till about 1:30 so got to bed after 2am... I was in Bruxelles. (this is the real part by the way, not the dream...) anyway when im out, and thats rare as i hate smokey places... anyway i always have problems sleeping after.,.. maybe its the smell on me, maybe the noise still in my ears... whatever.. anyway i dont even drink so not alcohol.. anyway last night i had a dream.. a dream i could fly... how? By using something like a frisbie that simply caught air and lifted me up so i just hang on and direct the frisbie and so go where i want... strange dream and im sure i had the dream for most of the night.. but i was not full sleeping, i know when im not fully asleep and can control my dreams then.
Kind of like sleep paralysis.. the thing where people think they have been abducted by aliens etc since they cant move and see all kinds of **** even though they are actually half asleep and paralysed as you are when you are in a deep sleep.. When that happens to me im aware of it.. happened about 3 times or so..

Anyway where someone to analyse the dream i had they might say it was the drink but 2 pints of blackcurrent juice harldy will cause that :D So what does it mean? Feic all actually.. its just my brain trying to sleep but still has so much stimulating it from the day/night so far that it probably puts up a defence mechanism... weird dreams in a restless sleep is the best it can do. They mean nothing. Well thats my oppinion.

    Dreams are our own creations.

Its like making, directing, producing and starring in your own movie every night. You may not think you have a creative imagination, but as far as dreams go (some as wierd or as good as a movie), we all actually invent all these ideas in our minds, and we do it most nights (remember them or not) without even trying.

And that is an encouraging thought, isnt it?
