"They Never Came Home" (Stardust) - Christy Moore

    Does anyone know anywhere on the net where you can get the Christy Moore song "They Never Came Home".

    Its the song about the Stardust club that burned down in the 80's and 48 people lost their lives.

    I think it used to be banned in Ireland, but I think that's been lifted since?!


    Anyone know?

    I'm not sure of the full story, but Christy was taken to the courts over it as the lyrics made reference to the doors being padlocked (which they were) and that there were not enough fire exits for the people to get out of the inferno and that why so many died.

    The courts said the song was distasteful and a great disrespect to the families of thise who died. (they were just trying to cover their own asses at the lack of fire safety controls).

    So the song was banned and the album that it was on was re-released with a different song on it called "A New song is born" or something like that in its place.

    I remember hearing the songs years ago and I really want to hear it again. It's really haunting, send shivers down your spine.
