    Scars.
    can look cool.
    can look ugly.

often have interesting stories behind them.

my own hands are dashed with scars,
an inch long incision from my first penknife "of course i wont cut myself mammy" i said....
circular shaped scar from falling over completly ****ed with a pint glass in my hand, first year in college.....
thumbs are scarred from playing hurling...

    chicken pox scars.

scar on ribs, cant remember how.....

shins and knees are scarred from hurling minus the shin guards....

scar on chin from playing football with my brother while our house was being built, six stiches.

never had a broken bone, never had major or minor surgery.

if ye could refrain from posting pics, that'd be nice.

    Don't have many scars.
There's a few on my knees from falling when I was younger, I had a habit of constantly knocking scabs off.

One on my right ankle, years ago I was lying on my bed and there was one of those portable radiators beside it, anyway, my sister pushed me off the bed and I fell on top of the the radiator cutting my ankle.

A few on my fingers, mostly from minor burns. One on my ring finger on my right hand from when I was canoeing (sp?) in transition year and another guy in the class managed to slice my finger with his oar.

And finally, a pretty big scar on the inside of my left forearm. Caused by a burn in work. Taking a tray of rolls out of the oven, I had my sleeves rolled up and the side of the tray (made of steel) touched my arm. The bread is cooked at 180 deg C so you can imagine how hot the tray was. Anyway, this was nasty, it blistered straight away and then got infected. The infection travelled all the way up my arm to my shoulder. You could see a red track all the way up. Left now with a scar ~ 2in in length.

    Dont have that many.
On my right hand, the inside of my fingers have a scar that travels in a straight line across each finger, was climbing up a hill and grabbed hold of come barbed wire at the top, the wire broke, i fell back grabbing onto the wire and my gripped slipped slightly but quickly and it nearly tore off my fingers :)

Left side of my stomach is absolutly riddled in big lines of scars, while playing a match(rugby) on morning years ago, i was trapped at the bottom of a ruck and someone decided that the ball might be inside my stomach so he rubbed my stomach with his studs :)

I have all the usual scars on the knees from childhood. A wee dent in my forehead from getting a whack of a tennis racket. A scar on my left eyelid from my sister throwing a roller skate at me. And I also have a 2 inch long appendectomy scar.

a scar on the forehead from tripping over & splitting it open as a young lad (3-ish, i think...)
one on the sole of one of my feet from stepping on a piece of broken glass.
and a cool looking one on my left forearm from a rusty nail (it was a small cut, wouldn't have scarred if i'd resisted the urge to pick at the scab:rolleyes: )

I've got a nasty scar on my right cheek from an attack by some knackers... they stuck a knife in my face.

I've got a pretty big scar on my right hand which I got from a broken ceramic toilet as a kid. The cut went very, very deep, and even though I got it when I was about 5 or 6, it's still probably the most visible scar on my body.

I've got another scar which isn't too visble anymore on one of my right knuckles. Got this working as a security guard in a music store (Which shall remain nameless) when the utter moron of a manager tried to hammer one of the poster racks back into shape, and the whole freaking thing came down, taking a chunk out of me knuckle.

****ing hurt like hell, that did!

Another thing that freaking idiot of a manager did, was while he was trying to hammer the thing back into shape, he was standing on a fire extinguisher! Which eventually ruptured, and sprayed all over the shop. I had to drag it outside as fast as I possibly could.

The most painfull one was also on my right side. On my wrist to be exact... And it's actually a couple of scars, but it was all the one incident. When I was a kid playing about, my wrist got caught on a broken tree branch, and it really tore into me... ****ing horrificly painfull!!!

Then there's the appendix scar, which is abnormally big, I'm told.

And whatever knee/leg scars I received as a kid.

It's mostly my right hand, and right side in generally that took most of the injuries I've sustained over the years, odly enough... :dunno:

I've had a big scar on my leg for years, no idea what caused it. And one on my stomach from an appendectomy that went a bit pear shaped.

    HEHEHEHEH :D

I've got tons of scars..Many from falling whilst riding my bike. I'm so terribly clumbsy! I've a nice 4 lined scar on the inside of my thigh from a mini motorcycle cause when I was 6,7,or maybe 8?? To this day I'll still not get on one!
I've 2 nice little indentions on my right eye from where my brother whacked me with his jacket which had a metal zipper on it! (Still he's 2 on the same eye from where I also wacked him back!)
I've a small one on my back that I'll not mention how I got! ;)

Umm the rest like I say are on my knees and elbows from bike accidents.

I've got a scar just to the left of my left eye. It happened on the last day of school when I was eleven or twelve. I was being chased by some ass hole when I jumped on a chair. The chair fell and I went with it. Icut myself open on the cornor of a window sill before smashing my head off the cornor of the radiator. It was one of those old ones with the sharp edges. Before finall smashing my head off the radiator pipe and then the floor. It was ****ing painful.

    Two scars.

One large one on my back which I got at a party. Woke up with it. Was quite embarassing explaining in the hospital how I got it (as in, I don't know how I got it.) It was a serious burn apparantly.

Second one is near my eye, from a beating (by three skangers) on O'Connell street. When I reported the attack to the guards, their response was, "That's what you get for being on O'Connell street on a Saturday night." Great!

I've two scars on my temple (on top of each other), the first from falling onto a corner of the log box as a toddler, the second from falling on my friends driveway - my glasses broke, the metal arm cut my head, and then I got gravel stuck in it. That was unpleasant.

I've one on my eyebrow too from piercing it twice and having it grow out each time.

I've a lovely one on my leg where I fell over shaving, that was dumb.

And I've a whole bunch of small ones on my hands from burns and from cutting myself on kegs, desks, branches, etc.

i have two scars, a small one over each eye,

the first, i walked into a piece of 20ft inch box length of steel, and was almost blinded, if i was any taller,

the second my fatehr was digging up the road in front of our house and hit me by accident (i hope) with another piece of steel, i was knocked out.

    Hmm.

Scar(s) on my right wrist from falling out of a tree as a kid and landing on a sharp rock.

Scar on my right thumb from twirling a beautifully sharp dagger I bought in France.

Large scar on my left leg, back of the knee, from cutting myself on some rusted old farm machinery on a visit to my aunt's house as a child.

Horizontal scar in the middle of my forehead just above the hairline from hitting off a low doorway on the Celtic Voyager during a college field trip (damn boat hadn't even cast off at the time! Oh well, at least I got an extra cream bun off the chef...)

Vertical scar on my forehead beside my right eyebrow from running into a door-corner in my haste to save a kitten in agony (which turned out to be just making too much noise for the hell of it, the bastard!)

Might still have small scars on my shoulderblades from overusing the waterslides in a campsite in France from nearly 10 years ago...

Ooh, and there's a scar in one of my eyebrows from when my dad was gardening and threw a thin edged stone behind him and which hit me rather hard.

Got lot of scars on my hands and arms etc. One on my left hand was stitches from when my dad let me play with a knife as a toddler, my mum was not impressed. On my right arm I have a white visible 1inch scar from when my brother threw the cat at me. Also have plenty of scars from that same cat and others. In general what do people think of their scars?, I`m not bothered by mine but I don`t like my acne scars which I have on my shoulders, back and chest.

    scars you say right

hernia operation bout 4 years ago so have ~3 inch scar on groin

when i was 7 i smashed into an electricity pole on my bmx (deadly bike) and lost three teeth so theres general small scars on my lip and my lip is a little messed up general scar tissue.

hmm cracked my chin on a window ledge when on one of those bouncy balls (you know the ones like the planet saturn with the plastic ring around it)

also have a scar on my arm where i kinda ripped it off the back of the car wasn't deep though so its much of a scar.

have a scar on one of my fingers from a fight when i was younger when a fella bit me wanker

I've just got a few general scars on my legs tbh, a 2inch scar on my right leg where i scraped it off the school bus (at least thats what i presume happened) no idea where it actually came from. A few on my elbows from when in my infinite wisdom when i was like 10 i decided i wanted to ride my dads raleighee bike down the main road, I had just about got onto the saddle of the bike before it tipped over, spilling me over onto the road.

I also have a few on my right knee where i tripped over the carpet in the hallway of my house, the water pipe underneath the concrete floor had burst a while before that, so the concrete had all been dug up to fix it and the carpet was lying all heaped up in front of the big hole in the floor. I was running down the house and tripped over the piled up carpet and walloped my knee on the sharp edge of the concrete floor, queue a lot of screaming.... I frightened the life out of my dad with the screaming and probably more so when he saw blood and me lying on the floor. It only needed three little paper stitches (really thin plasters that held the skin together to let it heal) It's a little bit dark to this day - I reckon a bit of concrete got left in there tbh, it's not that noticeable now though - thank heavens!!!

A really feint one on my left wrist - Burned my wrist on the hot tray when taking something out of the microwave.

A small one on my right thigh - When I was a kid, when I was going in to the kids next door I'd always run and jump the small wall by jumping up and stepping on it and jumping off it. Well, one day it had been raining, so I slipped right off it as I jumped up onto it, and scraped all down my right thigh. Lucky to only have the small scar really.

I've also got one on my shoulder from the girlfriend's cat who likes to jump up on my shoulders. I got this 3 or 4 months ago, so I don't know whether it's going to scar or just go away really slowly.

And a whole load of small stretch mark type scars on my thighs and lower back. I'm assuming they're stretch marks. And the only way I could've gotten them would be from rapid growth or something, cos I've never gained or lost a whole deal of weight.

Knees and Elbows from Slide Tackles on Astroturf during Footy & Tennis (Dumbass:rolleyes: )) It felt wrong not to slide!
Right Arm near the wrist - Put my hand through a Green/Glass House when I was 7.
Above Right eye - Jumped up to head a ball in a game of footy. Unfortunately another guy had the same idea and we caught each other head on. It was like a car crash!
Then just a few unmentionables - stupid little ones on my head!

2 on the back of my head from being an idiot as a child basically, climbing book cases etc.
one on my chin from when i was knocked down
a tiny one on my left hand from i dont know where
one on my right arm from when i cut it on piece of metal sticking out from a car
a nice big scar on my leg/groin area from when i got knocked down
one inside of my mouth from when i got knocked down
a little dent on my forehead from when i got knocked down

getting knocked down was fun :(

Mine are mostly on my hands..... from er....... punching "walls" and stabbing myself with broken bottles/glasses.....

Oh also a scar from my appendix and I got a chemical burn on my hand that's left scarring..... Constant scab feature in my hair, where I got stabbed with a dart in the head.... another scar in my hair from knocking myself out hitting a curb, after falling off my bike. Knocked my front tooth out (have a false one) from a bike accident (push bike)...... think that's it.

I've a wierd triangular scar on my elbow from when I broke my arm falling over a gate a few months ago. some on my right knuckles from when i was moving one of those heavy old coal stoves at work about 2 years ago. it fell and landed on my hand but amazingly didnt break anything, just cut it up. also got one on my eyebrow from when i had chicken pox when i was about 5.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,808 ✭✭✭Dooom

    Well, my scars would be:
A good few on my lower back from falling about 5 metres out of a window and then tumbling down 6 steps.
One on my right shin when I broke my Tibula (Tibia? The one in front anyway) and it stuck itself out of my leg. Probably my worst and most painful injury.
One on my left fore arm where it got slashed with glass.
Numerous ones on knees, knuckles and elbows from general cuts and falls.
And finally, a smallish one in between my index and middle finger on my left hand (from playing that whatever game it is..spread your hand on a table and use a pen/knife whatever and jab it in between all your fingers, going faster and faster till you stab yourself like I did).

Ahh scars. The uhh..diaries of life...or something.

picture this: you jump. you land on both feet. everything's fine, except for the ghastly cracking noise that sounded like the bathtub fell through the floor. then the pain. then months on crutches. (misery, i tell you.) then surgery. (and MORE pain...pain like you wouldn't believe... but when demerol became my friend that was nice) and a screw that won't come out of your foot. (a big chunky one at that, in the bone and all :) looks like they got one out of my door and screwed it in my foot) and hence two scars on my left foot. they've kind of faded though. I kind of like them. flawless people irritate me.
(it was an acute fracture in the fifth metatarsal of my left foot, just to appease your burning curiousity and anticipation)
