Which do you use, paintshop pro or photoshop?
    Why?

I have neither but I dont intend to stay using MSpain all my life.

If you want to edit pictures photoshop is the best and it's easy to use. Pros do not use Paintshop Pro.

I like paint shop pro just because it's what i'm used to. It's improved a huge amount over the years. Unless you can get them for free I suggest you just get the cheapest. When your only experience so far has been ms-paint I'd you'll be laughing with anything else that vaguely claims to be a graphics package :)

...I like PSP for it's many screengrab taking options, plus it's extensive file saving options and it's excellent batch processing.

Photoshop is the best image processing application ever. No argument. It doesn't require as much effort as has been made out so far in this thread. OK, to really understand Photoshop requires time, but you can do so much with it even with a shallow understanding.

Finally, I'd say that Fireworks is probably the best package available for the tightest image optimisation. It's also got some decent bactching functions.

Photoshop is easily the better program. Altho PSP is easier to pick up. If your unfamiliar with graphics programs you might try getting used to PSP before graduating to Photoshop.

Used Photo Paint for years, only scratching the surface of Photoshop in the last 6 or 7 months. I must go and do a course on it or something...

    its a gradual thing,

    mspaint,
    psp,
    photoshop.

photoshop is better, i'm just getting used to it myself in fact.

try and be smart and go directly to photoshop.
