Two (non-irish) female friends of mine work as "escorts" to help with their finances. It's purely a business transaction, they don't like or dislike it - it's just a job. A WELL PAYING job, over a grand a week for a few hours work.

Personally, I don't have a problem with it, as they always use condoms (so they're prob less diseased than the average Club M tart), and well, no one is getting harmed.

If you were in a desperate situation (as my friends are, they're refugees), could you do something similar? With women for money/men for money, or a rentboy?

I think it would have to be my last, last, last option.

Should be legalised and regulated, and hence protect the "escorts", like in Australia, where a lot of people use to it pay through college, instead of taking out loans. I have no ethical issues with it, save for the fact that people can be forced into the situation and abused/ exploited becuase of that. Make it all official, protect the people, and allow them to do it if the *want* to, not becuase they have to

It's a mugs game. While you **hope** a condom protects you from disease, there is no guarantee it will stop stoping like pubic lice. Remember some of these people will have 8-12 punters a night for 200+ nights a year. You get to have all their infections. Yup. I can only think of one girl who ever said to me, "Do you have condoms?", whereas an escort always uses condoms. I'd say the risk of an STD is prob higher with a "normal" girl.
