I download the 2 freebsd bootloader files, then in knoppix I dragged boot.bin onto the boot install .exe and nothing seemed to happen. Rebooted and it wasn't installed. I got this from Phaxx's post here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?postid=279926#post279926 . Any help would be appreciated :)

You do that in windows. .exe are win32 executables.

I installed it and when the computer starts it says something like:

    1. ??? [which is windows]
    2. Linux
    3. Linux

If I press 1 windows loads fine but if I press 2 or 3 it prompts me to choose again and doesn't load linux, so the only option is one.
Anyone have any ideas, it'd be nice to be able to start linux without using a boot disk every time.

In my experience the freebsd bootloader isn't great at loading linux. It does do a good job of loading windows though..
    You should try installing grub.
