    Company sells MP3 guns
    08/02/2004 - 9:09:56 am

A British-based company is selling MP3 players which can be attached to an assault rifle.

The "AK-MP3" player is built into the ammunition clip of a Kalashnikov. It can be swapped with the real magazine carrying bullets and inserted into the weapon.

The device is being advertised on the internet by a Buckinghamshire-based company set up by a group of Russian businessmen.

It comes with enough storage space to hold 9,000 songs.

Former Russian rock star Andrey Koltakov, a partner in the dotcom company offering the AK-MP3 for sale, said: "This is our bit for world peace - hopefully, from now on many militants and terrorists will use their AK-47s to listen to music and audio books."

The accessory costs just over £200 (€288).

According to those marketing it the stainless steel body makes it "uniquely suitable for outdoors".

AK-47s are the choice of killers across the globe from Marxist guerillas in Colombia to Saddam Hussein loyalists in Iraq. They were also used by IRA snipers.

They are capable of firing 600 rounds a minute.

do you honestly think those scumbags can organise anything other than ganging up on kids and beating them up? the" irish republican army" is ridiculously far from being an army. if youre looking for examples of organization, gallantry, elan or self sacrifice, look at the wehrmacht on the eastern front.

For ****s sake, skip, don't be so bloody anal. This is a lighthearted thread, not an excuse for you to dive in with self righteous political indignation.

on the point of the topic, if such a device is real, who the **** would buy them? lol

"lets see, i can buy ammo for my rebel forces or.... i can equip them with mp3 players which will distract them as they listen to their audio books or music and can't hear the gun fire or enemy sneaking up behind them.... hummm pitty we don't have computers out here in the jungle, but what really worries me is those RIAA bastards, they could sue us all and bring our cause to an end oh dear...." - Rebel Leader

    :P

tbh who has an ak47 that they'd like to equip an mp3 player to? and if so why would you put it in the magazine of the gun... if you're really that bothered and stupid, why not just buy a clip on one. If this was an actual product, those Russians have made a big mistake. I could only ever see them as a novelty product. Imagine one of your friends with one "Hey Look!!!! I got me this cool mp3 player that fits into the mag of an ak47"- Friend "Em.... You don't have an ak47" - You :)

what you talking bout...stop talking through your ass......they have/had enough fire power to blow the country up twice...and yes they have many sniper rifles two of which are the biggest in the world....barrat light .50 range 2Km....over 300 tons of wepons have been smuggled in for the cause in the early 90s alone....so keep thinking like that thats what they want you to believe....say nothing till you hear more...

just thought i'd ad another link to show this wonderful device (and the fact that it had a scantily clad young lady showing it off had nothing to do with it).

    here ya go

on a side note the guy with the beard is just a little bit frigtening i recommend concentrating on the photo directly to the right.

what a novel idea... one could mow down hoards of innocent people whilst crooning along with the likes of Barry Manilow or Daniel O' Donnell. What a stimulating mental picture that paints...

Of course they could. Sure, didn't they smuggle in some sort of missile lanuchers (stinger missiles) for firing at the britsh helicopters. I remember seen a documentary about it on TV and how the lanucher had a 90 second battery so they had to lock onto the target fast.

read a report about a rumour the IRA had access to the Barratt Light .50 a few years back. the guy was shown a demo of it, and told that after only a days training a half decent marksman could consistantly hit a target 1km away, and a skilled marksman who was used to the weapon could do the same at 2km+.

also read that even a hit in the shoulder would just about take your arm off, so even a winging would most likely end in a fatality. nasty piece of kit. was looking for somewhere on the net to buy one, just to see how much they were, but I'm sure a reasonably resourceful bad guy could get hold of one relatively cheaply. same goes for the AK, which can be pretty effective when used as a single shot rifle, although the recoil can be a tad heavy.

    yah i seen that.
although i thought it was a modded stinger launcher that they customised themselves?

still like the barrat though. the M99 model holds the record for smallest group of 5 shots at 1000 yards, with a group of 107mm in diameter. pretty impressive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 264 ✭✭freekhead

The light .50 is ment for light armour tanks and not for personal......the ira have two of these today...the south armagh bragade used one in the back of a mazda car to kill an english corporal...they had a steel shutter mechinism ting so it could be shot from the boot quite like a cat flap........

the .50 is not allowed in this country the highest cal legal here is .27 (british law) not a great cal at all....the .50 cost around €3000 complete with water tight box and bullets are around €10 each got to hold one it would take 3 men to carry it....im a gun nut :p have a few rifles of my own

....yeah they had stinger missiles and also artilery,, 60 cal brownings and 300 tons of lighter weapons...not many know or the british refuse to believe but there was gona be an all out attack in northern ireland..just one morning you turn on your radio and hear there is a civil war in the north... the stingers where to blow the choppers so the british where forced to use the ground the 60 cal where going to be used to take out british troops on the roads and the artilery to blow the navel ships docked in belfast and else where...it all hung on one last shipment but someone ratted them out and it was found off the coast of france..... the attach was modeled on the vietnam tet offensive
(sorry for so many spelling mistakes cant fe*king spell)

Your search - "60 cal browning" - did not match any documents.

Are you sure you are sane enough to own firearms?

All of the IRA's "artillery" was homemade.

sorry browning m60 is a .50 cal... they have 4 of these......and yes they made home made stuff to but only bombs and improvised mortars (and the mortars they made where 10 times more powerfull than the standard ones)....
but the bulk of their fire power was given in good faith by Quadafi to quench the brits who also where at war with libea......

some men carried out training over there with these high powered wepons mostly stinger missiles before the last shipment took place...the boat used was owned by a buisness man from bray who was trying to make a bit of extra money but had no real links with the ira...the men thought it was him who snitched...but it was a plant at the top rank of the provos....also only 12 men knew of the large operation that was going on and it was supposed to stay that way, but 1 week before the last shippment mcguinness called a meeting with some heads of the provos to let them know what was going on....he was not supposed to say anything to anyone and when word got out of mcguiness's briefing they where furious...yes the spy was present and so the brits knew everything... element of supprise was gone and free ireland was not gona happen....

the boat gave engine trouble of the coast of france actualy the boat was rigged with explosives so if they where cought it could be blown to the bottom of the sea but someone tampered with the device meaning it was a sabotage... there where 3 men on that boat the buisness man from bray who was initally accused of being the informer, Michael McKevitt and a man who is believed to be the biggest informer in the history of the ira who is still to this day in hiding

the guns that made it into the country are still stached in bogs and farms all over the country but only a hand full of men know their wherebouts....that is why britan so eager for the ira to decomision cause they know exactly what we have....there is even underground shooting ranges in the south still being uncovered

up untill the early 80's the provos had not much weponary, ak's and the like...they got a lot from america "armalite and ballot boxes", and britan seen this so the cia cracked down on irish/american followers of the cause and few guns could be shipped from there anymore

for people to believe that the ira are none other than a few farmers with pitch forks and shotguns are seriously wrong.....

if i find some links with this info ill post it but i guess its not gona be in to many web sites...

i just read a lot about the history and struggle of different countries...it gives you a good idea of what to expect in the future...things are looking good now and there is no need for viloence "now that they are listening"....but before these times when your religon mattered if your family was going to starve cause you couldnt get a job...yes it mattered then...but not now its more equal now.....
    :)

let me make this clear the ira have so much fire power you wouldnt begin to imagine.....

Your picture is of a Browning M2 .50 cal and is typically carried on a vehicle, but can also be used on a tripod as shown. Indeed it takes several people to carry. However, if the IRA only had four and it has a maximum range under 2 miles, how would they kill all the British soldiers in Northern Ireland?

    http://www.army.dnd.ca/lf/English/2_0_33.asp?FlashEnabled=1&uSubSection=33&uSection=5

The M60 is a .30 cal weapon and typically has a bipod and while carried by one, it is usually operated as a two man weapon.

And how would they sink (all?) the RN ships with some home made mortars? With home made, almost by definition, not being as good as armoury made? Why get some really expensive Semtex when home explosive is so much better?

The IRA never had Stingers, it being an American weapon, which Libya never got. They are suspected of having some Soviet designed 9K32M Strela-2 (NATO SA-7 Grail) missiles.

    Get your facts write!!!!!

You know the advertising guys where right you can actually use a standard Ak clip in a dragonv (sp), the entire range was designed to be interchangable, as in you could put the same gas plugs in the 47 as the support machien gun form (have lost my book on this, but remember that.) Plus any good rifle with a x4 scope in the hands of a marksman is a sniper rifle.

and by not doing one google of knowledge i stated this.....its quite easy to pull up some sites...this is not the road i want to go down read a little know your history stingers or 7's doesn't matter been a while sinse i thought bout it......look just letting ppl know that the ira aint some stupid farmers convention they aint to be messed with enough said...they have fire power to their teeth

About the closest the IRA came to conventional artillery was the Royal Artillery and lots of American chaps named Ira who were in Artillery units.....
