Recharger / Batteries for a Digital Camera

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a charger/batteries for use in a digital camera?

When I was in the US last week, I turned down the opportunity to buy a 15 minute charger / 15 minute charge batteries, as they would have cost round $50 (and didn't know if I'd have voltage problems). Having looked around a little, it seems like this would have been a really good buy..
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.. Maybe I should wait until someones travelling to the US again... :(

What's the camera model and battery type?

Sorry... Fuji S5000 - so any generic AA Ni-MH would work fine (4 of 'em)..

Well finding a charger should be handy enough. Are you specifically looking for something to do the job in circa 15 minutes?

I'd say Maplin might be a good bet, I had a quick look (www.maplin.co.uk searched for "battery charger"), and saw this:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=040208170256563&moduleno=31769
Price is quoted at £29.99sterling, so expect it to be near €45.00; full charge in 1 hour and it has a cigar lighter attachment so you can charge batteries whilst driving (might not be such an advantage on your motorcycle though!).

7dayshop have a later model than Maplins with 2300mAh batteries, and it's a bit cheaper :

Batteries which are fast charged won't have as long a life (number of charges) as those charged with lower current for a longer period. This may or my not be a priority for you.

    :D - I have a car too!

Thanks Solaris/Samson.. That seems to be exactly what I'm looking for..
    Duly ordered...

Hey Krusty, Glad to hear you got the S5000 :)
I was in Tesco in Clearwater SC, Finglas at the weekend and they were selling a fast charger for €24.99 with

    • led indicators(full/charging)
    • car adapter
    • mains adapter
    • 4 x ni-mh 2000mA batteries

    I can't remember the brand...

I paid about US$35 when I bought something similar to this in WalMart in US last year!

You can get them in many place in Dublin, I got mine in Conn's Camera.

I'm using these for my flash gun and for a small digital camera and they're great.

    Hi Comet,

That's a good question... not that I don't know but I bought that with other stuffs and I am not sure!
I think is was 50€ which is not too bad... it was 3 months ago.
You can send them an eamil, they will answer this afternoon: http://www.connscameras.com/flat_areaEQLenquiry_entry.html

Maybe you can get it cheaper online but it was easier and faster to go their shop.

    -45€ here:

    - 39€ here:

Do a search on google with "HSC-104", you'll find many shops.

    Thanks WezzyB (and all!)...
WezzyB: they were selling a fast charger for €24.99 with
Any idea how fast their fast charger was?

Here's the 15 Minute charger I was looking at in CompUSA. Of course, it only charges two batteries at a time, so if your device uses four batteries, you can double that.. Design flaw?!

Well, I went for the 7DayShop charger, so should have it in the next fortnight.. (Slow delivery, isn't it?!)

Its €59.99 in Argos and you get it for €42 on 7dayshop, not bad, but you'll be waiting a while alright

They also sell a charger that charges 4 in 15minutes so not a design flaw at all. Looks like those I-C3 batteries are equivalent to 2000mAh batteries.
