They do a free version aswell don't they? Anyway I advise you to keep that prog away from your computer, it is full of ads and spyware. There are lots of free programs that will play real files and streams, you can also get a program that downloads and saves streaming files, very handy.

Realplayer is a load of crap.

They have learnt thier lesson recently (after a major customer dropped them), they have made thier free player more accessible.

Before you basically have to read the whole page to find out that some small link gives you the free player and all the other huge links all over the page forced you to enter in credit card details to get a free player (which was then billed if you continued to use it). Add to that it had spyware crap in it that worked even when the player wasn't, hijacked other media players to stop them working and then made it next to impossible to uninstall the POS from your system.

This was some time ago, now it could be the best thing ever but after all that they can stick the product where the sun doesn't shine.

I don't think real alternative saves them but I could be wrong, The program that I use is called Streambox vcr, it has downloaded every tipe of streaming media I have thrown at it perfectly.

Why are people still using netscape?
one its as good as dead
two your much better off using mozilla

I used to be a big netscape fan but dropped it because of how ****e 6.0 was, I moved to mozilla at that stage
