I managed to get two tickets from the website. Couldn't get through on the phone at all.

Ticketmaster is a total sham though, they should have a website that can cope with thousands of visitors, considering they sell tickets to events that have a huge demand all the time.

Hmm thats standard for all events popular on ticketmaster. Normally you check around 1-2am and sometimes they release the tickets for sale early. After that its have a few people on the internet and phone and you may be lucky. Tis a pity would have loved to have gone myself.

    Gandalf.

I asked ticketmaster to hold them for me, I'm going to be seriously annoyed if I don't get them...

I agree with the sentiments about ticketmaster.

I got a ticket cos the lads from work were queuing (sp?) from 7.30.

What is a fiasco about it, you couldn't get a ticket, but I am sure many others who go regularly and have a block booking did.

We got our full allocation of four tickets for the three games, they wouldn't offer any more like they usually would for a friendly but that's fine as it is such a popular fixture.

I managed to get 4 tickets through the website. Wasn't particularly trouble-free though. Even when I finally got in to the ticket selection bit, I got server errors and timeouts all over the place. Had to keep trying. Lucky I'm sitting on a fast connection at work. However when I did get in at around 9:10-9:15, I managed to get in with 2 other sessions and could have ordered 2 more sets of 4 if I wanted. Noticed it was sold out around half past.

Got three tickets at €63 each. Not too bad.

This happened as well with the tickets for the last qualifying campaign but after much bitching we got em this time no luck.

....that's their service charge is it not?
i'd imagine the majority of the €20 x 3 goes to the fai/irfu and little, if any, goes to ticketmaster.

I also had a time-out at 9:10am on the 3rd and and final page.....must have been 5min and a few seconds cause it didn't seem like 5 min.
Several minutes of panic then with phonelines dead and the website not loading but i got there by 9:20. close call

how many tickets were available altogether?

I work for ticket master lads and in fairness it is not a rip off at all, the three euro was split twice €2 to every agent i.e. the shop you bought it in €1 to Ticketmaster themselves, apart from this, Ticketmaster make a very small percentage from tickets, and I mean VERY small.

The agents make only this €2, plus a yearly contract fee. Its promoters and organisations like the FAI who make all the money in this.

BTW, as a tip, if you are ever buying tickets for something with huge demand, I recommend screwing the internet or phone and going to the Ticketmaster desk in the Omni Park Shopping Center Santry, never a queue and it always satisfies demand (disclaimer: if your demand aint satisfied it aint my fault)

well i got charged 6 euro per ticket when booking RHCP tickets - totaled 24 euro - now i don't see how it should coust 24 euro per online transaction -

sure they have to make a profit but Booking fee should be per transaction Not per ticket

Best thing to do is buy the ticket in the shop and not over the phone or on the internet. When the tickets are in demand there is no chance of getting through. I tried it a couple of times before when I was getting WWE tickets and missed out.

What is a fiasco about it, you couldn't get a ticket, but I am sure many others who go regularly and have a block booking did.

It's a fiasco that being told that they are on sale at 9pm, having two people trying to book and then there not being resources to meet a demand (not TICKETS, resources) is the fiasco part. Maybe fiasco is a bid harsh - whatever you want to call it - I'd spent 45 minutes trying to book ad then it shows up sold out....

    As for
but I am sure many others who go regularly and have a block booking did.
this seems to assume I don't go regularly and don't deserve a ticket? That I should block book? Whatever... I've been to all our friendlies in the last 5 years, and to competitive matches when I can get tickets (which I usually can't)

I don't understand the whole block booking thing? Don't it mean you have to have stubs from previous matches or something? Can somone enlighten me and then I can join the glorious prepared elite like Fish who laugh at us plastic fan bandwagon jumpers?

Got mine off the website at 9:20! Felt blessed! panicked like a girl for a while but then eventually it worked out. Bring on the samba boys! To all those who were unfortunate not to get any... hard luck. God loves a trier!

yea i got mine through our soccer club, but only cause i get them for all ireland home matches. i think thats the way to sell them.... the more ticket stubs you have the higher you get bumped up the list.

same as the rugby internationals, the most of the soccer tickets are sold thru the clubs, to people who play or help others to play and those who get involved with the grass roots of the game..

and its the way it should be
