Has the box gone back up to €399 or is it still at €299? A friend of mine got a mail from Sky saying it was €399.

as theres a fresh sky + thread I'll jump in..

If I went and bought a quad lnb and pace sky+ digibox on ebay, would it simply be a case of setting everything up and calling sky to get the recording turned on?

I've heard from my friend that Sky have been ringing people offering them Sky+ for €50 if they are subscribed to the full package. Has anyone else heard this?

News to me.... I've had the full package since the analogue days and have NEVER got offered anything :(

(Pity too cause if this is true I'd take it...)

according to my friend, his dad was contacted by Sky who offered him Sky+ for a one off payment of €50. I'm still a bit skeptical myself as it sounds too good to be true but I trust what my friend tells me. He may have gotten it wrong though. It would sicken me if true though after spening €474 getting it installed.

Try cancelling and see what they offer 6months later to get you back :D

They offered me 1/2 price for 6 months OR a new digibox if my system being faulty was reason I didn't want to renew!

My digi box was giving problems, the tuner was gone in it so I rang $ky and they were going to charge me €110 for a call out charge but I told them I wanted to cancel my sky, they then soon changed their tune and put me on to a supervisor and told me that I had misunderstood the sky monkey he really said it was a free call out to check my box not €110.

He said they will repair the sky box , I told the senior sky monkey that I wan'ted to still cancell my sky sub because I was not prepared to pay X amount to repair a 3 and a half year old box so he then said that the call out would be free and the repair would be free.

End of storey is that Sky engineer called today 2 and a half weeks later. He didn't bother calling for the appointment last week and misssed his appointment yesterday but I got on the phone to sky yesterday with "this service is unacceptable" line and I want to cancel.

So today I got a brand new free digibox for no charge, and its not under contract for 12 months.

If your thinking of getting Sky+ I would recommend you to get it. I have it about a month and it is worth the money.

I'm having serious frezes and lockups and all sorts of bugs on my sky+ since the start of december.
Thought it was just me and sky cs said it was just me before looking at this site.

    http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=35

seems i wasnt the only one according to that site, so i called a couple of friends with sky+ and they are having problems too and also thought it was themselves.

I'ld reccomend that anyone thinking of getting skt+ have a read of the above link first
and then make your decision. Its a lot of money to pay for the treatment that sky have given these people.

i havent experienced any problems with Sky+ until this morning

and that was because someone parked a truck in front of the dish (during Soccer AM too  )

On the poll, whether you are happy with Sky+ over 80% said they were happy with Sky+ and i would be in that catogory

you should read the posts towards then end of that poll. Since december :)

If someone parked a truck in front of my dish during soccer there would be hell to pay ... as long as the driver was smaller than me :)
