What's the best thing for a cold?

Apart from the usual Lemsip and endless stream of tissues, what's good for a sore throat and endless runny rose?
I'm talking VitC tablets as well as fresh fruit. Only got the damn thing yesterday and it's killing me already...

    Any ideas?

There is no cure for the common cold. Just stay warm and rest. Let your immune system kick in.

Do what I do, stick a bit of tissue up my nose and leave it there. Saves the hassel, and you dont get a red raw nose from constantly having to wipe it :D

Ach aye I know there's no cure, I'm just looking for the best way to ease the symptoms.
Giblet, I'm not sure if I like the idea of a having something like a tampon up my nose. :dunno:

What's that? Do I hear hear somebody shouting "Whiskey!"...?? Ach well, if you insist then... ;)

I'm seriously not trying to be a sleaze here but...

If I have a cold and my girlfriend/furk buddy doesn't mind risking herself by kissing me, I find lots and lots of seriously athletic sex, followed by sleep and nice food kills it.

I reckon it's the immune system getting a kick in the arse by the physicalness and the feel good factor afterwards.

    ... :D

Note: If you are single, I'm pretty sure whacking off won't have the same effect!!

Vitimin C and lots of it. Lemsip and stuff only because they contain lots of it.
Have to say its the most pointless disease out there, there is not even a risk you could die!! At least if there was it might be interesting

Taking Vitamin C is a good idea alright, but there's no point in taking HUGE doses as you'll pee 90% of it out anyway.
Plus, there's very little vitamin C in Lemsip. Vitamin C is very easily de-natured (by practically everything) so pouring boiling water on what little remains after the manufacturing process just destroys whats left.
    paracetamol every 4 hours.

Once you've got it there's not much to do but sit and bare it, but to avoid and potentially lessen the duration of the cold you need Vit C.

And one of the best sources of this is from garlic just take one clove of it like a pill and you don't get that nasty garlicy smell and you get plenty of concentrated unprocessed vit C
