I spoke to Sky yesterday re: ongoing issue of my favourites not working. They were going to book a service call when I asked if the box needed replacing would I be given a brand new box? No was the answer, I'd get a refurbished box.

I assume this is standard practice but no amount of arguing would get a new box. It had to be a refurb. I cancelled the call for the time being but what's the deal with refurbed boxes? I assume they're probably OK but I'm thinking I'd put up with not having my favourites for the sake of keeping my existing box. Any opinions?

I know when they replaced mine (I had a modem problem) it was a new box as I saw them taking it out of a new box,I think they have to guarantee it whatever it is. Also remember the service call originates in Scotland UK, where they might have plenty of refurbished boxes but not so many here ,it may be easier to give you a new box. my sugestion ,if your not happy ,get it replaced
