Anybody ever heard of this story? What do you think?

There are links at the bottom of that page to some of his writings, and if you google him, quite a bit comes up.

By the way, I'm not saying it's true, just that it seems interesting.

    (16) There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.

    haw? europe gets destroyed

this is all pretty **** news ah well if theres a divergence of 1% in the timeline then that is definitely going to come true and if it is true we'll know in a years time

    highly doubtfull

china couldnt be destroyed they have the biggest airforce in the world and have a load of nukes too they would destroy america at the same time this is a fair amount of potential bull

Actually he made predictions that for 2004 there would be more civil attacks.

I've read all this before. While the person writing this did their research very thoroughly, there are plenty of discrepencies in their discription of the "time machine". It also sounds like one of the most pointless reasons to come back to the year 2001 - to spend time with his family? Yes, I'm sure the military let him use one of the first time machines to do that. Oh wait, of course it wasn't developed by the military - it was GE! Pfftt. Enough said.

Besides, you can never travel back in time farther than the invention of the time-travelling vehicle you're using. Its a paradox.

ok no scientist here, but the time machine was obiviusly not developed by the military (in his story) cause it has been distroyed!! No one has every gone back in time so you can't say for sure that you can't travel back in time farther than the invention of the time-travelling vehicle you're using, only a theory! But its only a story so who care's!!!!

why didn't he go back in time and prevent the third world war?

not trying to wind you up or anything but how do you know? have you ever been in a time machine?

edit: totally agree though pointless reason to go back in time

Read all this some time ago - I must admit he does spin a good yarn but there are plenty of holes in his story....
It your looking for another prediction/end of the world type senario try googling for The Bible Code - this one has a little more meat on it i think.... check it out and see what you all think.

    63. I'm glad to see it's so easy for to dismiss the Middle East. Yes, I suppose it is a no brainer but pretty soon it will be a "no arrmer" and a "no legger".

this one is quite interesting though

Nope, but I do read the odd piece of scientific literature, and watch the odd documentary on the subject. I believe Horizon did quite a good episode on the subject about 6 weeks ago, which gives a detailed explanation of my statement.

yeah but it was still just a theory..so you can't say for definate that you CAN'T go back in time beyond a certain point. unless you build a time machine and confirm your theory

Betya he's a real estate agent in Omaha, Nebraska. That is he says the new capital so obvioulsy was unhit. It's the only place he has outright said is fine. There'll be people flocking there in their droves. That or he works for or has invested in GE. The only company he says that has survived and now makes time machines.

I love the way when people think of time machines there always has to be a few spinning rings. In fact any machine which messes with physics has to have spinning rings, you can see this in any films like contact or xmen (2 that spring to mind). Physicists hate spinning rings! You get one of those little decorative rings with the 3 bands and shake it at a physicist and watch that bugger run.

maybe you should read it again, he says he was meant to go to the 1970's to get a computer but because things don't go perfect he ended up in 2001 and decided to see his family.

and he also says that there are more advanced time machines then his, he just works for GE and they develop SOME time machines. i guess the best comparisons are with the airforce and boeing developing fighter jets.

i'm not saying all he said was true, i'm just saying what he has said isn't as bull****ty as you may first suspect.

it's an interesting read.. can't wait for the first wave of civil attacks, just to see if he's right. 3 billion people dead in 2015... hmmm

Are you insane, he says europe gets waisted! tell you what why don't america and russia bomb the **** outta each other and leave the good neutral folks of ireland alone!!!
no man who survived through that would come out saying his side won..

The americans were remorseful over hiroshima but they still say they won!!!
i understand what your sayin( no boby wins in war) but the one's who decimate the other will always say they won!!!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

well yes but the difference there is that hiroshima is not in america

american cities, along with millions of american people... *are* in america

now after having the **** nuked out of his country and how many of his people/family/countrymen dieing horribly... i'm not sure he really would feel so victorious

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,441 ✭✭✭The_Goose

    Point taken!
But wouldn't the fallout wipe out everyone!
it was my impression that prevaling winds would blow the radiation across the world if so many nuclear bombs were detinated?

Calm down its not like theres any truth to it. Have you ever noticed how since about the late eighties when Nostradamus fever kicked in we have always been about 3 or 4 years away from the apocolypse. My theory is that this will stay the same for eternity. People worry so much about the massive disasters that people predict might happen they forget about all the mini-disasters which happen every day and have a REAL affect.
If time travel goes from the way it is now (we cant even attempt to do it) to people bouncing around parralel universes in 30 years i will eat my hat. He says noone will live normal life after next year. All this disaster and nuclear crap isnt affecting the scientists working on time travel though no? Every other form of society crumbles like Television and transport but what survives...time travel.
Nukes dropping all around and some egghead is going to go "hmmmmm must work on my time machine"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,441 ✭✭✭The_Goose

    me is calm
just sayin if it did it probably would!!!
the fact his time machine was a car kinda ended any doubt!!!
"hmmmmm must work on my time machine"
exactly, ever notice in sci fi fims when the world falls apart, there s flying mahcines, time travel and everything else under the sun!!!! Must be those magic fairy's making the components and producing the fuel!!!
