There was also a guy in the states named Worf
Version 2.0 is a odd name though i am trying to think what people will call him. I mean clearley the techer would have to call him Version 2.0 but what would others call him.

Whatever bullies usually call the kids they beat up I imagine.

did the father not consider beta and or alpha tests with the son first before having a 2nd version.

Alpha testing wud be some form of ****, while beta may be the "pull out" method

Missed the whole point of calling him 2.0. Is there going to be a 2.1 or something? Or is that reserved for his siblings? It would be great for those families with 15 kids, so need to think up new names. John Joe 2.0, John Joe 2.1, John Joe 2.2, John Joe 2.2.1 (John Joe 2.2 miscarried after mother wouldn't stop drinking and smoking..) ...

    Mike.

he probally is flash upgradable mike but his floppy drive will only work for about 13 years or so of use then he'll have to reply on his hard drive,

    *i'll get my coat

/scurries off into a darkened corner

I really do feel sorry for that kid when he grows up to have to live with a name like that i imagine he'll get his name changed legally to ver or something like that.

You forgetting about him? Think "Young Einstein"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭Magic Monkey

That film was cool, but IMDB says his real name was "Greg Pead". Not so bad.

Another bit o trivia, Michael Keatons real name is Michael John Douglas. He changed it for obvious reasons :)

Wasn't that in the UK?, I'm fair sure Jerry Ryan had him on the radio and all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,689 ✭✭✭shepthedog

    only in the states

I reckon they should have learned from the mistakes of version 1.0 and never been allowed to make a newer version

The wife is worse for letting him... That kid is gonna hate them like f&8k

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,016 ✭✭✭✭vibe666

there was a bloke in the uk who had a major problem with yorkshire bank a few years back, and rather than change bank, he changed his name to mr yorkshire bank plc are facist bastards, and then went into the bank and told them he'd changed his name and could he please have a new cheque book and bank cards with his new name on them. because he had the deed poll papers they had to do it, but from what i remember they agreed to sort out the disagreement on the condition he changed his name to something else, which he did.

    funny little story anyway.

as for john version 2.0, what happens if he get circumcised? will that be version 2.1?

That's unbelievable. He's making his son a nerd with no choice. What are the odds he's gonna change it to something else? God, I'd never call my child Version 2.0. I'd go with something with a little more class, like Neptune!

    The kid's name isn't "Version 2.0" folks...
Jon Blake Cusack, from Holland, Michigan, told local newspapers the US practice of adding "Junior" or "II" after a boy's name was too common.

So, when his son was born last week, he decided on the name Jon Blake Cusack 2.0, as if he were a software upgrade.

So all that'll happen is the kid will be called Jon or Jon junior etc.. the "2.0" will be dropped after the "novelty" wears off and the parents realise how idiotic it is.

As a side note, it's kinda sad that nonsense like this is legitimised by sites/organisations like the BBC. The downside of 24 hour instant news and websites to fill :(

EDIT: Just realised the date of the OP

It always looks funny to me how late 90s/early 2000s websites now only take up about 40% of the screen.
