I have a 20gb 3g iPod. Had it connected to my windows pc through the dock. Had iTunes open on my desktop but closed it so i could play some games.

I looked at my iPod about 10 minutes later and it was frozen. It said "Do Not Disconnect" but the smybol wasnt flashing. Also the battery meter [which would normally be charging] was also forozen, as was the updating symbol.

2 hours later its still like that. I've tried opening iTunes again, restarting my pc, and taking it out of the dock, but still it refuses to function.

    anyone any ideas?

please reply asap as im going out in about 2 hours and i dont want to iPodless :(

turn off your pc, if it's still the same take it out of the dock and hold down menu and play/pause it will reset (don't worry your songs/data wll still be on it) and you should see an apple logo on the screen which should disappear within 5 seconds.

    happy podding

no problem i've had this scare as well.

make sure you eject the ipod from the pc by clicking the eject ipod button in iTunes somewhere down near bottom right when not using it as a hard drive or tranfering songs.

Youre lucky. i had the same problem, it froze during transfer and would not respond. All it could do was turn on and show a folder icon or turn on when plugged in and charge, i couldnt use it. Anyway sent it for repair, they hadnt seen anything like it and it took them 12weeks to ship me a new one. A week later the remote broke. Theyre great players but not very durable at all, so watch out could cost you a fair bit
