does anyone know what is up with the baby traffic lights on oconnel st (where it meets henry st)?

There are working traffic lights on both sides of the middle pedestian bit, but there is also these baby traffic lights on each one(actually stuck on to each working traffic light), all the normal size ones are working so its not like they might be temp replacements, just wondering if anyone knew what they were for?

they either plan on turning off the main traffic lights for works or something or it's a prank

Isn't it for when you are driven right up to the lights and you might find it difficult to see the main lights? They use them in germany, uk etc. Or might be for pedistrians, I'd say it's the first reason though.

    "baby traffic lights" ?
do they go green even when the pedestrian sign doesn't? so mothers with prams/buggies can walk straight out on to the road in an unexpected manner?!

they are cyclist lights, I think!

They're all the rage in France :) From what I could figure they were, indeed, for those drivers/cyclists who'd gone that bit too far to see the big boys.

So long as they don't put them on the Blanchardstown bypass/West End junction they shouldn't be too bad!

    It is what it's.

    Of course I'm right....

(The direction there were facing wasn't specified, hence they could be for pedistrians)
