k im looking to buy a new mouse and mousepad

im thinking about getting a IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 USB mouse
is this any good for gaming?

but not sure about a mouse pad

it this mouse any good and any ideas on a mousemat?
now im basically looking for one to use on first person shooters so one that will provide a non-stick yet smooth surface ( Func/ice/etc.?) <- btw wats the difference between mouse mats?

Note: wasnt sure about posting this here but mouse/mousepads are "kinda" technology in a way.feel free to move this to an appropriate forum if there is one

i personally dont bother with a mouse mat. just a clean table! get the mouse, try it out and then decide if you wanna shell out for a nice mat.
